My wife and I walked around the Nye Beach area for an hour or so one morning, and visited many of the shops. I don't think we bought anything (that's not a bad thing.) We really were kind of disappointed and bored with this part...More

Small coastal town in Newport with many eateries and shops to explore. Parking could be a challenge on busy summer weekends, but be patient it is worth the stopover.

We parked right on Beach Street and walked in for a bite to eat at Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach. Amazing place to eat and reasonable prices. Family owned--love to support local businesses!

Just a great walkable venue filled with cool restaurants and stores. Carl's Coffee shop is also excellent!

This place was busy on a weekday, I can imagine how crowded it would be on a weekend. It's a great place to stop, grab some food and walk the beach.

There are charming shops here and restaurants, definitely upscale, and since I live near Cannon Beach, I tend to think of it as a mini-CB. The beach itself was marvelous. We watched an eagle resting on a rock, and I found limpet shells.

Nice area to stay, to walk around, and the beach was lovely. Stopped for both dinner and ice cream. And then played on the beach. :)

I'm sorry, I do not know the official answer regarding dogs off leash, however, I suspect the review by Dolly209 is probably correct. Every time I have visited the Oregon coast I have seen dogs running free on the beach with... More
