Very beautiful scenes by the sea. Newport Bayfront is my go to happy place! Lots of fun things to see and do. Love watching the fishing! The restaurants are amazing and filled with fresh caught fish!

A fun place to visit. I don’t care for the tacky attractions, and shops, but I enjoying walking around the water side of Bay St and seeing real, live commercial fishing taking place. And we enjoy some of the restaurants, especially Local Ocean.

The bay front has lots of little shops to visit & also a variety of restaurants. If your lucky you’ll be able to see wild sea lions on the dock, it’s really cool. Their quite vocal.

Back in the eighties the bayfront was much different, now with the tourists you can hardly even get around.

Newport's Bayfront is a little street that wraps around the bay, with shops and galleries, diners, chowder houses and fine restaurants, and kitschy places like Ripley's Believe it or Not all interspersed with local fishing warehouses and boat docks. Even in rainy weather, you will...More

The sea lions on the docks were noisy and fun to watch. It was cool to see the fishing fleet and the various research vessels (NOAA and Oregon State University ) on the piers. The views inland and out past the bridge to the ocean...More

There were many little shops selling souvineers, munchies and the likes. The best part was watching all of the seals floating on platforms nearby.

There are at least two docks on the north side of the bay (where the sea lions congregate) where you can fish and crab.

I also saw people with fishing gear on the pier. I would sure check the local laws or risk a fine and confiscation of your stuff. Google would be a good start.
