Great trip in the Salmon River estuary with guide Tony Gile. We would go again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to other travelers to the area. Four of us, all together, met up for an early morning paddle, timed with the tide. Tony had lots of great information, natural history, paddling tips and stories to share...all without being too chatty or overwhelming. The skies were cloudy, temp was 60F and the tides were timed perfectly to make this a great trip for a kayaking novice. Kevin was our guide and he took our party of three adults on a trip to the mouth of the Salmon River, then back deep into the estuary to ride the changing tide back again. This was easy to book ahead of time, and everything was there waiting when we arrived. After hectic times these days, it was a great way to experience the calming effect of self-propulsion in a beautiful nature area. I cannot believe it's been this long and I'm just getting to a review. We took a guided tour with Tony in the fall of 2019 and had an absolutely fantastic time. We were lucky enough to be the only two to book that morning, so it was a very personal experience too. During our three hours on the water, we never felt rushed or pushed above our comfort levels. Tony was happy to take us as far as we felt comfortable going, and let us pick the paths we explored. It was a delightful tour of the Salmon River Estuary, where we got to explore continually narrowing corridors of tall grasses (so quiet and completely different than what we expected), were greeted by a big group of seals who were quite interested in us, and more birds than I can even remember. I'd recommend booking a tour with Safari Town in a heartbeat. Tony was ridiculously nice and fun to paddle with, and you could tell he was happy to show us his neck of the woods.…

I took my adult son on a 2 hour guided kayaking trip with Safari Town Surf Shop and we had an amazing time! Chase was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the ecology and geography of the area. It made the whole experience entertaining and informative. We had a two hour guided kayak trip on the Salmon River just north of Lincoln City. It was our first time kayaking. The weather and river conditions were fantastic. Safari Town Surf shop provided everything we needed and met us at the river. Our guide, Kevin, was extremely friendly, personable and helpful in showing us how to kayak safely. We had a great time. We highly recommend. We've already booked another trip and invited friends to go with us.…
