I haven’t spent much time in the malheur before but got a chance to for a few days. It’s very beautiful, saw lots of deer and even one cow elk. Not a bad option if your looking for a get away from the world.

We did 20-mile backpack loop which most hikers do to see several high lakes and climb Strawberry Peak in this glaciated wilderness near John Day. Also hiked hardly used Pine Creek Trail into west ridge country burned in the Canyon Creek Fire of 2015. More...More

I did a spontaneous, quick road trip from Boise, ID. I picked Malheur National Forest as I haven't been there and it was a short 3 hour drive. It is beautiful and I look forward to exploring more of it. I can see coming back...More
