Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here on a hot afternoon to cool off. The park is nice that it’s right in downtown but has limited amenities and a small swim beach. The sand was nice and the water was very cool but it was very crowded in the tiny swim area. There really wasn’t much shade available, just dry grassy areas. Parking is available in a pay lot or on the downtown side streets. Okay but definitely not something to go out of your way to see.

Waterfront Park in Hood River is a true gem nestled in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. This expansive park offers a delightful blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities that cater to visitors of all ages. As I strolled along the well-maintained pathways, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of the mighty Columbia River and the majestic Mount Hood standing proudly in the distance. In Cherry Wonderdog’s opinion, the park's lush green spaces are perfect for picnics or leisurely walks with canines in tow, while the sandy beach invites sun-seekers and water enthusiasts to cool off in the refreshing river. The park's well-designed amenities, including playgrounds, skatepark, and tennis courts, provide endless options for outdoor fun and recreation.
What set Waterfront Park apart for us was its vibrant atmosphere and sense of community. The park buzzed with energy as locals and visitors gathered to partake in events and gatherings. There was definitely a family-friendly environment here that fostered a welcoming spirit, making it a perfect spot for us to bond and create cherished memories. Bottom line, whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat in nature or an active day out with loved ones, Waterfront Park in Hood River offers a captivating experience that will leave you longing to return time and time again.

Very well designed large park- a few city blocks long, lots of grass and walls for sitting, benches scattered throughout and even a lower beach area. Had planned on a second hike and instead spent an enjoyable 90 minutes in this clean area. No crime.

Very nice place to walk and enjoy the river. A place to ride your bike or just sit and enjoy great weather.

We had some time to kill and happened upon the Waterfront Park - what a great place!! There's paved walking trails for at least 3-4 miles along the Columbia River (and right alongside Hood River). Along the way are bathrooms, food trucks, plentiful parking (some cost $ - although it's worth it for what you get!), and lots of activities. There's quite a few places renting kayaks, paddle boards, kite boards and lessons for all of these. It's such a clean, safe, family-friendly location!

We had a short stop over Easter sunday to take few photos of the Hood River Waterfront park. Glad we did! Nice smal recreational area for local people to get reenergised over weekend! The parking was free (not sure about business days).

Well the city of hood river hit a home run with this park, the park is well kept and a nice attraction on its own....but the beach on the bank of the Columbia river is really great. Its an awesome spot to go for a swim on a hot day. The view of the river is impressive and with all the windsurfer and kite boarders on the river it really is a great place to relax.
Also just across the street is a row of restaurant's/ brewery's and shops, it has a real good vibe to it all. And downtown Hood river is just up the street with more to check out.

This park is right by the Columbia River and across the street from some breweries, restaurants, etc. There's a wading/swimming area, playground, walking path, etc. Very scenic, very fun.
