We viewed the mountain from several locations, the best being at Trillium Lake, but Timberline Lodge has great views as well.

What a beautiful drive with gorgeous views, farm stands and a lavender farm. We enjoyed going to the lodge and snow as well. The views were great as we stopped for a drink.

Views of Mt Hood are superb. Drive SR 26 or 35 to Timberline Resort and take it all in. You can even ski it in June . Breathtaking! Also an excellent view from the Pavillion at the Japanese Gardens in Portland on a clear day.

Great views, nice trail well kept except for Elliot Glacier wash out area. Plenty of markers (stacked rocks) from previous hilkers to mark a fair route.

The view of this mountain is really quite spectacular, with the volcanic cone shape and a lot of snow remaining on June fifteenth. People were still skiing and snowboarding Shen we got to the top. The road is very good, so it's an easy drive...More

We returned in the Spring to the Mount Hood area. We were blessed with spectacular clear skies and so we had great viewing of Mount Hood. Snow was still on the mountain. There are numerous outdoor activities one can do in the area.

There was snow, boarding and skiing in mid June. We drove standard car and roads fine. Do not know about other times of year.

Hey all Looking for help on what to see: 6 day trip flying into Portland renting a car flying out of Seattle. First time to Port, have been to Seattle's downtown, but nothing else. Originally had set for 3days in Mt. Hood/Portland area to explore downtown & some hiking around Mt. Hood/Columbia River Gorge exploring Then 3 days either around Port Angeles to see visit Olympic National Park sites, or using those same days and staying close to Rainer National Park to do some hiking/see Mt. Saint Helens. Ideally since we are for sure spending time in Portland Area & Mt. Hood bc we have never been to the area. I was thinking it would be great to get up to the Olympic site where there is different vegetation, beaches, etc. but after reading some comments, it seems that Rainer & Mt. Saint Helens are not to be missed. We could def hit either Rainer or Mt. SH for a 4hour stint on the day we drive up to Olympic area, but probably not both... My question is for people who have been to both, if you had to cut out something what would you cut out? Is 3days/3days too much at either? If so, should we try 2/2/2 or a 2/1/3 if you think all of the stops listed are obtainable. Thanks so much for your help.

I think you are cramming way too much into a very short period of time. Figure out what is most important to you and focus your time there.
