After we parked our car, we were heading to the John Dellenback Dunes Trail. These dunes were historical, as it took lots of years to establish these dunes, especially thanks to John Dellenback in the year of 1972. So, back to our hike. After our...More

If you like the Oregon Coast, you simply must hike this trail, or as much of it as you're able. I didn't know the Oregon Dunes were this tall and expansive before my visit. This was the perfect way to spend a 76-degree cloudless day...More

This is one of those areas that you need to experience for yourself. It's like a desert randomly popped up in a rainforest. Enjoy the hiking trails and try to fathom how these dunes formed. :)

My first visit to John Dellenback Dunes Trail beach was not disappointing. What is nice about this beach is that on most days the beach has few visitors. I saw very little drift wood or shells. :( On the other hand I saw no litter...More

Were only ones on the trail in late May. Got to end and had a huge beach along the Pacific ocean to ourselves. Saw sea lions in the waves. Dunes were incredible and a must see.

You have never seen so much sand before. The beach seems to go on forever but that is what Oregon is known for. Great for picture taking.

We were out in fantastic sunny weather, but only took the short loop out to the dunes and a bit of a walk toward the beach. Stunning views of the sand and rain-water oases. Note that the trail to the right is the easier, and...More
