It may be easy to zip past the small roadside parking area for the trail, but this is well worth the effort to find. A beautiful walk through the trees and rhododendrons takes to you an almost-empty beach. If you're there at low tide, there are great tide pools to explore. Definitely worth the effort to get to.

Trailhead #93. You can google map Hobbit Beach Trailhead and it will take you there. This trailhead isn't hard to find and is a must if you are in the area! Definitely worth the time and effort and it's a short half mile hike through beautiful mossy tunneled trees that eventually leads to its own beach. Our family loved it!... More

The entrance is easy to miss. DO NOT FOLLOW THE GPS! It took me to a campground which is where the trail originally begins but there is no parking unless you are camping and have a camp spot. I added pictures of what the entrance looks like so you can see how easy to miss it is. It's a very... More

A little hard to find. Inbetween the sea lion caves and campground. Great beach at the end. Had young kids, going down was fine but the way back was a little harder for our youngest.

A really cool trail, about half a mile down a hill (which means the hike back up to parking area is uphill). Well worth the minimal effort. You park in an non-descript parking lot on the side of 101 about half a mile after the tunnel heading north between the lighthouse and Waldport. There are trails ahead of you, but... More

This is an easy walk if you are okay with a bit of an incline. Lots of roots to maneuver around but quite easy if you take your time. Very short little hike/walk. So beautiful in the middle, you would never guess the highway is so close by. Parking is limited but you can park at Haceta Head Lighthouse and... More

Physical activity: Moderate. You'll go downwards from the road to the beach, and then hike back up on your return. The distance you cover is doable even for people who don't see themselves as fit or athletic, provided you are comfortable with your footing on uneven ground. The inclines on the path are not extremely steep and you can rest... More

We are avid Hobbit and L.O.T.R . Fans so we had to see the Hobbit Trail. 1 mile roundtrip magical hike down to a deserted beach. It is steep in some places but will do it anytime I'm in the area....except maybe bear season...lots of little hidey holes and trails you could picture wee little Bilbo living in...as well as... This is a fun short hike through a forest. There is lots of moss growing on the tree branches and ground. It feels verdant and lush. The ground is soft to walk on because all of the pine needles. The vegetation is dense in places making you feel like a Hobbit. The hike leads to a gorgeous beach. The trail... More

Very cool- pack a lunch and plan to stay a while. If the tide is out.. You can walk forever! Be sure to remember to look back at where you entered the beach (I think there is a big yellow sign that says 93). Don't miss the cool carvings in the sand walls as you walk north along the beach.... More
