Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely ourdoor setting just on the outskirts of town with trails connected to varios access points along the southern edge of the city. A place to return time and again to see the beautiful forest and local wildlife. Just watch out for the poison oak (leaves of three, let it be).

We love the Ridgeline Trail. Our favorite stretch of this extensive trail system starts across from the Raptor Center on Fox Hollow Drive. It is a fairly level trail through lush green trees and ferns, and it offers a great loop back to the parking lot (for a hike of about 1.5 miles). Perfect for a morning warm-up in any season.

Hiked this with my sisters in February when there is not a lot in bloom and they still enjoyed the views.

Great photo ops. Trails are well marked and easy to follow. Great hike. Trails are accessible by bike.

I like this trail, however, it gets busy and its not as peaceful as I would have wanted it to be. However, I would recommend it for a nice early walk.

The Ridgeline Trail in South Eugene connects several of the major forest sections on the hills and buttes providing great views and can be accessed easily by several major streets including Willamette Street, Fox Hollow Street and Dillard Avenue. Parking is available at the trailheads at these locations. Enjoy a quite walk among the old growth pines with moss and lichens all around, or walk or bike with friends, family or pets and escape the busy world for a few minutes. It's a real gem so close to an urban area - not to be missed if in town for a weekend or holiday. For an added goal, connect to the Spencer Butte path (at the Willamette Street trailhead) and walk 0.5 mile to the summit to enjoy a marvelous view stretching from the Oregon Coast range to the snow-capped Cascade Peaks and all of the valleys and mountain lakes in between, not to mention all of the city of Eugene spreading northward in the Willamette valley all the way to Mt. Hood. It is a real gem of the Pacific Northwest.

Eugene is a great city for the outdoors and has many miles of hiking trail. The Ridgeline Trail is one. I appreciate it as a resource, but wish that it was better marked and maintained in better condition.

The Ridgeline Trail system is huge bonus to living in Eugene. I have used it for running for 12 years. Now with the Ribbon Trail in Hendricks Park it is possible to run for almost 15 miles exclusively on forest trails, and up to the top of Spencer Butte, while remaining amazingly close to town.
