We went to Crater lake. On the way almost there we passed parking for the Pacific Crest Trail. The trail was snow covered. It was hard to find where it went going north. It wold make a good snow shoeing path. The parking lot was snow covered and not clear.

Hood in eight days. While four started the journey, two went the entire distance and the other two couldn't overcome blisters. They made... More

The trip from Portland, OR to Dufur was filled with many vistas and waterfalls. It was beautiful. We saw some of the biggest waterfalls I have ever seen.

The part of the Pacific Crest trail that passes Bend is close enough to the highway for anyone to get to on a day hike. Beautiful, rugged, worth the trouble.
