Good far-off view of the lighthouse on the Cape Arago Highway towards Charleston. This the hardest to see of all the lighthouses we saw along the Oregon coast.

we rent a beach house on lighthouse way every year and have a prime view of the cape arago lighthouse from the home, as well as the 'semi-private' beach. basically, that means private access through backyard stairs to get to lighthouse beach. however, in oregon...More

There is one pullout on the highway where the lighthouse can be seen. I have a lens that allows it to be looked at but it's not something that I would bother with again. I can't understand how this could be rated #3 on the...More

You can't see it! We wasted so much time on this 'scenic' byway. You can't even see the lighthouse. The road is private and there is a locked gate. Look on google maps- I couldn't find any other place to view this. I'm really disappointed...More

I enjoy seeing the Cape Arago Lighthouse, from shore; but, it is not easy to tour the lighthouse. I am still working on it. Nice views from Sunset Bay and Cape Arago Highway Waysides.

We got here early (0930) to see the cliffs shrouded in fog, and could hear the sea lions barking. The sun soon burnt of the fog, revealing spectacular rocks and and scenery. A very beautiful and peaceful part of the Oregon coast.

Great one hour loop drive. Stop at Simpson Reef to see elephant seals, seal lions and harbor seals. Beautiful rocky coast views.

Try to get there at low tide and check out the tide pools and then sit back, relax and watch the sun set and the tide roll in crashing over the nearby off shore rocks. Even got to see some local whales.
