We walked to this beach twice during our week in Nehalem because it was a favorite. The walk is a little off putting because it makes it hard to carry food and chairs, etc. But it is well worth the effort. Lots of surfers like...More

This is a great park with a beautiful easily accessible beach and park. We give this a visit while driving the 101 (Seattle to SAN Diego) and it was a very nice visit. Lots of surfing going on and down the far end of the...More

This was on of our favourite places along the Oregon Coast. Take your time to hike to the far north end of the beach. Good bird 🐦 photography and action surfing.

We loved Short Sands Beach. The trail to Cape Falcon, though, was a horrible slippery mess - you should definitely skip that! Meanwhile, with better weather, the South Neah-Kah-Nie Trail and view would have been super as well. And if you only have time for...More

You can get tangled up in the different paths on the way to the beach. It's alllll worth looking at! Loved every minute of it.

There is a short walk to the beach from the parking spot off 101 - it is well worth the effort with wonderful trees, streams and wildlife all ending in a sheltered beach with excellent views and easy surfing. The area and paths are looked...More

In dry conditions a good athletic shoe should be fine; if wet, I would recommend hiking boots. Also dress in layers as temps vary along the trails and be sure to bring drinking water for each hiker.

Yes, there is a wide asphalt gradual pathway that goes to the beach. You access this trail from the parking lot on the east side of 101

Just google transportation from Portland to Cannon Beach. There are some bus lines that go there regularly. Once there you would still need to get to the park, ( 15 -20 min. down the coast ). The Cannon Beach Chamber might... More
