Geoff Frank and his guides did everything to make sure our trip was comfortable and safe. We paddled to one island, had lunch and then paddled to the island where we would spend the night. We were planning on staying two nights on the island, but there was a storm brewing. So we paddled back to the original island just... More

After hiking all week, for a change of pace we rented a tandem kayak and had a very pleasant float on the Deschutes river in Bend. The people at Tumalo Creek were super friendly and helpful. We walked in and in short order we were sitting in a kayak on the river while we were given quick instruction in how... More

Owned by a great supporter of the Bend outdoor enthusiasts community. Anything you ever wanted that has anything to do with being on one of our beautiful rivers or lakes. Not inexpensive, but definitely top notch equipment for sale here, along with advice from knowledgeable river folks.

I had a one-on-one kayak instruction with Austin and it was excellent. He covered everything from safety, rowing techniques, equipment, accessories, what to do in situations and what not to do. It would be a privilege to have him again for an instructor, whether it be one-on-one in with a class. Tumalo Creek was very helpful and I look forward... More

Spent 90 minutes with Sue for one on one paddle boarding lessons. It was worth every penny, Sue was funny, supportive and totally adapted to my comfort level. I picked up more in that 90 minute session than I ever would have just watching people and doing it on my own, most importantly she taught me correct paddling technique that... More

This adventure was amazing. The guides plan everything to smallest detail, yet are thoroughly prepared to easily accommodate any change due to climate or conditions. They are also a lot of fun. They loaned, to myself & others, neoprene garments, booties, dry jackets, and more. They take care of you. Participants bring tent, sleeping bag & pad, and clothing. Needed... More

My wife and I have a tandem kayak but are thinking about upgrading to two singles, so renting something we thought we might buy was big on our list of things to do while visiting Bend. They have a pretty big store here and all the staff was really helpful in picking out something that suited us. Originally, I was... More

The Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe company in Bend, Oregon led us on a 4-day, 3-night kayak tour in the San Juan Islands. I can give nothing but an excellent review with no complaints at all. We had 7 paddlers and 4 guides, though 4 guides is more than on their usual trip. The guides were absolutely wonderful. Their knowledge... More

We did a half day kayak trip on the Deschutes River. We had two children (ages 9 and 11), and they had a great time. Our guides helped us into our kayaks, and we paddled upstream a ways until we reached some rapids. We then paddled downstream for a while until we reached a slough off to the side. I... More

We visited Tumalo Creek's Sunriver location. My teen boys are both experienced kayakers, but it was my and my 10-year old's first time. We put in at LaPine State Park and drifted with the river to Big River campground, which is about 9 1/2 miles of smooth water with a decent current. It's not too deep, either, in most places....
