What a facility ! What history of Woody, his music and its historical context ! A superb walk-through venue with theatre. We viewed the JJ Cale documentary during the Tulsa American Film Festival. Really can't say enough about this memorial museum of O Grande Woody Guthrie ! Great souvenir selections as well.... Enjoy ! Soon and often.

This is a wonderful museum. Easy to get to the displays and info are really well done. A time capsule of our country through music and Woody's art that I did not know he had done. Well worth the visit. A nice film is also shown which was really informative. It was also nice to talk to Sam Flowers about... More

Never tire of visiting here when I am in town. Wonderful museum. Lots of acoustic listening stations, short films, special rotating exhibits. Don't miss if you are in town.

After a snow storm ruined a weekend getaway a couple years back the hubby and I decided to give it another shot this weekend. The main reason for our first trip had been to go to The Woody Guthrie Center so it was much anticipated this time around, sans snow. The center has a lot of history to share and... More

Tulsa is undergoing an Urban Rebirth...Explosion...Renewal...whatever you want to call it...Tulsa and its CBD has become a whole new and fun destination. Actually the "new" downtown Tulsa is wonderful...fun...and festive! The Woody Guthrie Center is the new center of what is right with Tulsa! The Guthrie Green is exceptional, but the Woody Guthrie Center (the South boundary of the "Green")... More

A must for music fans. The museum is not large, but the displays and short films of Guthrie's life, combined with information of what was going on in the world at the time, make a fascinating experience.

He is the singer of "This land if your land," which I was unaware of. He inspired a vast amount of people with him music style. Lots of interactive activities... More
