This is a beautiful area to come to camp and fish. With an Oklahoma fishing license camping is free. There are no electric or water hookups, no showers, but there are pit toilets. Very nice clean camping area with large sites. Our sites were a short walk from the river, and a short drive from one of the more popular... More

Make sure you have a hunting and fishing license, or a permit to enter the park. It's beautiful and very nice to see the water and hear it running at night while camping out. Very nice campground within a wooded area and the nice people you meet while camping. Be sure to check it out when you come to the... More

I was taken aback by the untouched beauty of this place! It was SO nice to come to an area that was not overran with people and the ones that were there respected it. Clean, clear waters roll down through there and beg you to jump in!! We will be back ASAP and bring my entire family with me so... More

My wife and I stopped at the Blue River recreational area last weekend. It's quite lovely. It's quiet and relaxing there. We took off our shoes and walked across the road over which the waterfalls fall; it's only a few inches deep. We didn't stay long, but it's one of the more beautiful places I've seen in Oklahoma.

We spent a 3 day weekend camping at Blue River near Tishomingo, OK. The water falls were amazing and the water ran clean and clear. Fishing was so-so as it needed to be stocked, but we did see a few small Rainbow Trout and a couple of Gar and the kids loved watching the turtles. Camp sites were pretty clear... More

We sold our pontoon boat after our first visit to the Blue River. It's such a peaceful place to go. You can go hiking, fishing, swimming, photo taking, or just sit and enjoy the birds and wildlife. There are deer and turkeys that can be seen on hikes that you take. Each turn you make is even more beautiful than... More

The Blue River always transports me to some beautiful mountain river in the Rockies. The water is cold and clear and a great place to fish and swim. In the fall, the state stocks the river with trout. It is one of the very few places in Oklahoma to trout fish. A great place for camping, hiking and day trips.

Wow!! What a beautiful stretch of river in this Southern Oklahoma area. This is a designated trout river in Tha winter, so you have to have a special license, but I didn't go to fish. My sons, grandson's and Grandpa, were there looking for morel mushrooms. We didn't find any, but the trip was worth it because of the beauty.

Two day fishing trip, arrived on a Thursday evening, met up with a local, friend of my grandson's that took the time to go with us to the river and allow his forty years experience of fishing the Blue River. We hit several spots that evening without any luck. Had a great burger at Scotty's Blue River One Stop. fished... More
