Very dissapointed

Very poor signage, was hard to find our way around the park. Not kept of very well. The website doesn't accurately reflect the park. We stayed in Anglers Cove. Was supposed to have a bait shop, no bait shop. Very close sites and not kept up will not return.

Great viewing of Pelicans

We went here because the website states they have hiking. We never found the trail, so we walked around the campsite and had good views of the water and pelicans

Signage was poor so we had a difficult time finding our spot as the office was closed. Luckily two workers were driving by and they helped us. The view was spectacular. Tried to fish, but we had no luck. Couldn’t find the restroom on our side of the road. It would have helped if we had a map.

Great view , only two other RV ‘s during our stay . Close enough to Joplin for a day trip and lots of nearby casinos.Should have brought our fishing poles!

Loud, confusing and awkward!

We stayed at the Woody Trail Campground which was one of the several which made up the area, while on our tent camping trip last week. I have to say it was nothing that we expected. The layout was very confusing to us. When you first see the Twin Bridges Area sign, there is a small building just before that which we thought was the office but it wasn't. We then thought the area right by the sign was just a picnic area beacause it was so open but realized it was actually one of the campgrounds. There were maybe 4 or 6 different little campgrounds that are wedged between the road and the back side of the cliff leading down to the water. Many of The campsights were either practically on the road or in the middle of the "campground" next to the pavillions. The whole thing was weird. We searched for a basic campsite but they all seemed to have electric and water and very few seemed to have a level tent area so we ended up selecting an rv site. Well then it got more frustrating. The poster on every site said you must pay online at the website provided or pay at the office before you can set up camp so we attempted to pay online but our service was spotty and the website was giving us trouble and saying nothing was available so we decided to go find the office. We did find it down the road but it was closed on Sunday. We decided we would just pay in the morning when the office would be open. Eventually a camp host did come and collect our money though. As for the site, as mentioned we had difficulty finding a level spot to put the tent. Oh and actually we had selected a different one but then realized that particular site didn't have a fire ring. And then there was the noise! We selected a site which was farthest from the road but that still was less 100 hundred yards so you could hear all the traffic. Then as night went on a train went by two to three times and it was very loud. We made the best of it but wouldn't likely go back.

Great fishing spot.

The number of boat trailers in the parking lot lets you know how many fishermen there are here. What struck us was the phenomenal number of cattle egrets. Saw a bunch flying, some wading in the shallows, but hundreds of them across the river in trees. Never seen that many in such a relatively small area.

Travel trailer site 22

Great park visited mid-week. 6-8 miles from gas station. Friendly park office with ice. Site 22 is decently shaded but plenty of shade for RV sites here. #22 is 3 sites away from bathhouse, close to a good older kids playground but also near a great toddler playground on the way to the park office. Volleyball basketball horseshoes and a pavilion across road from site. Could hear the train over the lake late at night in our hybrid camper but camper AC mostly drowned it out from our toddler. New bathhouse in campground on other side of the highway by waste station and offices are now under construction.

Christmas Lites In Winter Is Nice
Jun. 2016 • Family
The lower area to launch boats and fish is pretty good. Fishing in the area is normally great. Not good for swimming but boating is good. Upper area where the campgrounds are is very good especially if you have an RV. In December, they have the Christmas lites set up and you can drive thru and vote on your favorite space. That's a lot of fun. The campground is kept clean and its a nice place.

Beautiful
Beautiful camping area. The water of course is not for swimming but the area is beautiful. We love getting away and just walking and enjoying the scenery.
