Valley of the Divas is a fundraiser for Creative Bridge Coalition, which brings music to students with special needs locally. The concert is held in the intimate and beautiful Ford Recital Hall. Tonight we hear Maureen Collins, Leanne Binder, Janis Jones, and Sugar Joans, among others. Maureen McGovern, an Ohio native, is the feature vocalist. Among the background vocalists is... More

We attended an Alan Parsons concert at Powell Auditorium. The facility an amazing art deco theater. We were in the front row of theater seats, but they had chairs set in front of the theater seats and they were higher than the theater seat. I had a nice view of the people in front of me despite paying a premium... More

We were attending two performances of Ballet Western Reserve, one at 1.00pm and the next at 5.00pm. On a Sunday. We had not thought about eating between the performances and did not realise that there was a restaurant which served food. We had not therefore booked and by the time we found a table we were last to have our... More

First let me tell you that Deyor/Overture is a fabulous venue in which to have a wedding. The facility is absolutely breathtaking. Nora and Jeff Crystal Catering created an exquisite menu that everyone raved about for days. Nora is very friendly and easy with which to work, from menu selection to timeline coordination to detail attention. My hat goes off... More

The Warner Brothers were from Youngstown and this is one of their first theaters (1931) which is a fabulous art deco memorial to their brother Sam and to the time when going to a movie was a true event. Threatened with demolition it was saved by the generous contributions of the Powers family in 1969 and then renovated and enlarged... More

This building is a must see if you visit the Youngstown area. It is always clean and the building itself is magical.

Expansive and reasonable lunch menu available from 11 to 2. The portions are large and there is a very diverse menu. Hours are limited unless there is a performance at the DeYor.

We were there for a wedding reception and you could feel and see the beautiful history the place has to offer -- although I'm personally not a fan of the modern pavillion/restaurant (architetcure wise) -- the food at the reception was very good and I can only imagine what the theater was like back in its heyday. Its an impressive... More

This restored theater is remarkable - with awesome acoustics for enjoying the music. We had dinner at the restaurant adjoining the theater and the food and service were great.
