Actually, I visited the memorial during the bicentennial celebration of Perry's victory at the battle of Lake Erie in 2013. This is the site of the most important and decisive battle in the history of Ohio. The museum provides an excellent overall interpretation of the battle and the War of 1812. When you study the maps in the visitor center,... More

Came up and seen this in 2015 and just again right after new years and it is just as awesome as the first time. If you enjoy monuments and history you need to visit this at put-in-bay!

This was the only attraction open and was very interesting. However, not enough to suggest going to Put-In-Bay.

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip every year for me. We really enjoy going up into the tower and checking out the crazy amazing views. My husband is scared of heights but he still loves doing this because the views of the lake and island are so worth it!

This is a lovely place to visit. The views are spectacular. It was frigid on the day we were there, so there was no line to get in. I would love to go again when it is warmer.

Regardless of the historical significance (which is cool) the view is amazing. Being able to look out at the tranquility of the lake all the way to Canada is breath taking.

The only view of all of the Lake Erie islands and Peelee island. Excellent NPS to explain the Battle of Lake Erie. IMOPORTANT NOTE: The ride to the top of the monument will be closed in the summers of 2017 and 2018 due to constructions. Check out the NP website.

When he dispatched his victory to President Harrison he declared "We have met the enemy and they are ours". great view from atop 400 foot monument of surrounding iislans and... More
