A wonderful monument with much Ohio history. Open area is flanked with many bronze busts. The McKinley statue is very impressive. The library is well staffed and is connected to CleveNet. Just create an account online and reserve your material and they will notify you to pick it up. Vast collection of movies and Cds. Great children's room.

I love history and was surprised to find President McKinley was born in a town that is close to my house. When I found out I had to take my family. We all enjoyed the history that we learned.

We were very rushed for time and so we didn't get to visit the museum. The monument is beautiful. Takes a few minutes to look around.

While driving through downtown on our way to another attraction ( see Lanterman's Mill ) I did a quick U-turn just for curiosity. Glad we stopped. Tastefully done.

Stately monument for an Ohio President in town of his birth. Serving both as memorial and public library, one can visit and enjoy just the exterior sculptures, or ask the librarians to open the museum to view McKinley campaign materials, correspondence and personal artifacts.

I have seen this numerous times growing up in Youngstown and passing it on the way to Niles/Warren area. It is interesting to know that President McKinley was born in my area!

We visited the McKinley memorial and birthplace home last Saturday and were so glad we did. The memorial is beautiful and classic with granite pillars set in a peaceful shady lawn. The statue of the late president is magnificent. Around the memorial are sculpted busts of several Ohio and national figures who were his contemporaries or who played a role... More

We made reservations ahead of time to tour the McKinley Birthplace Home and received a very informative tour. The home is located one block away from the memorial. After touring the home, we visited the memorial - however it was closed. We were able to walk around the statues and take pictures. I would call ahead the next time to... More

We visited here the week of 6/15. It is an impressive memorial and beautiful building. It's in the center of Niles and you can park on the street in front of the building or the parking lot which is on the left side of the building. When you arrive there is a phone number to call for a tour on... More

Unlike recent Presidents (The WJC Massage Parlor, Burn n Shred Stop n Go comes to mind), the McKinley is understated elegance. The inner courtyatd contains the busts of important members of his administration set on granite plinths at eye level. The gardens are small, but well maintained. It is, in a word, peaceful. The staff is local and gracious to... More
