My wife and I walked around the grounds there, we went on a great day, got there early. Go in the fall, just really a awesome place to visit! Put on good walking shoes, it's a huge park!

This is so nice. Took our dogs and had a picnic at one of the convenient picnic areas. You can drive or there are places for walking.

My fiance and I came to geocache the park closes at 6:30 and the park ranger comes and tells us its closing up and stands there until we leave mind you it is 6:15. You don't have to worry about us being back. As of...More

Beautiful grounds to explore with children. My daughter and I really enjoyed the observation tower and the lake. Very peaceful as well to sit by the lake and unwind from the work week. Will definitely be back in a few weeks to enjoy the changing...More

Some of the most beautiful plants, trees and shrubs are grown here you will find anywhere in the United States. You can drive through and there are pull offs all along the way. There is even a cypress garden to view. There is a fire...More

If you go, make sure you take a camera and a picnic a long. Depending on what time of the year you go, you are bound to see something beautiful. I have been here many times.

The Dawes is truly an Arboretum, ie, devoted mostly to trees. Flowers are a secondary interest. The grounds have nice sight lines, with a good collection of interesting trees of various ages. You have a choice of walking trails or driving. Highlights for us included...More
