As a kid, I spent many, many happy days at 'Headlands', the best beach on the Lake Erie shore. The beach has plenty of parking, bathroom facilities and trails to walk if you want to get out of the sun. The beach is clean and has volleyball nets available if you want to pretend you're Olympian Kerrie Walsh. Nice place... More

Most people associate this park with summer and swimming.... but it can also be a good spot for an off-season walk. No, there aren't any hills, but if you like strolling along the shore (yes, there's all the flotsam and jetsam that the lake throws up) this can be an enjoyable spot. Since there are very few cars around, you... More

Headlands beach is a great resource that is easily accessible from route 44. Open year round with many opportunities to view wildlife or just sun on the beach. There is also a .6 mile asphalt path that runs parallel to the beach. Pets welcome on the path but not on the beach. Restrooms are available.

excellent beach with views of the old light house, during July the city holds a beach fest, that includes will know sand sculptures competing for number one, than in August there are Off Shore races, I don't mean the small boats but rather the ocean race boats with speeds hitting almost 200mph

One of the best beaches and it's free (as of 2-1-17)! I love coming to this beach any time of the year! It has a paved walking path that is perfect for exercising or I see people riding their bikes or walking the dog (remember your poop bags people!). Get out and enjoy this free local attraction.

This is a nice little beach for relaxing, the undertow can be a little daunting but still a nice beach for a summer day

Weather swimming in Lake Erie (on a good day) or walking the beach- you'll have a great time at HBSP! There is plenty of space even on a hot summer day! There are pavilions and tables all over for picnics or a party! Walk along the beach & find a lucky piece of beach glass! Or stroll up to the... More

I never knew you could review a beach, let alone one that many locals I am sure take for granted. Being a Cleveland resident, (Please feel sorry for me!!), I worked in Mentor, and went to "the Headlands" a few times either on a day off from work, or just to see what is was all about. I know I... Went to this beach in the morning after a cold front went thru, little rain but winds changed direction and increased. Being cool, I guess, kept number of visitors down. Waves were wonderful. Long beach, nice scenery. Would be good for swimming on a warmer day.
