Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely love this place so stunning that only the locals know about it mostly. Great walk around the coast line looking over the bay and on a clear day can see the Dandelion Ranges. Most days the view towards Geelong is amazing 😻 I’ve seen schools of dolphins and just the other day a pelican enjoying lunch by the beach.

Horrible beach! Never imagined a beach would be like that in Australia. Dirty water, not managed at all. Water is so black, looks like some dirty water is released. Very polluted and looks contaminated. Apart from that, park/grass isn’t maintained, lot of flies on dead star fishes on the shore. No restaurants near by. Local council should review and fix it soon. AVOID THIS PLACE UNTIL THEN.

After recently moving to Werribee, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this lovely stretch of coastline. I have been visiting once a week while the weather has been pleasant.

Pros:
- Very quiet! Unlike most beaches in Melbourne you don’t have to fight for a sliver of sand, or deal with obnoxious people, there’s always plenty of space.
- Clean sand that is raked regularly
- Beautiful pine trees lining the road
- A paved walking path
- proximity to Wyndham harbour for an ice cream or drink at the local container bar 3030 Boulevard
- large grassed area for games or picnics
- Beautiful views of the bay

Cons:
- There is a giant sand bar along the entire stretch of coast here so the water is very shallow quite far out (can be a pro for people with kids though!)
- the sand in the water is a bit weird with sludgy bits and dirt in parts. I also noticed in one section there is a layer of fine black gravel a few centimetres under the sand.
- The water can be perturbed and so sometimes looks brown, the water is still clean but looks unappealing to some.
- Currently a lack of facilities such as showers, shops and BBQ’s (there is a small toilet block, playground and milk bar directly across the road though)
- Lack of shaded areas

Overall a really great remote, natural feeling beach worth a look. The council has plans to develop the area so will be ‘nicer’ in the future but for now it’s still worth spending time and enjoying it while it’s still quiet!

Always worth a visit any time of the year. On a warm Spring/Summer's day the walk along the beach is great - on a cooler day the bracing wind and the waves rolling your senses and renewed and invigorated! Try a coffee at the milk bar - they make a great one!! Take time to sit and watch the fishermen throwing out the reels in the hope of catching 'the big one' or just watch the small boats from the pier while the children play in the playground. A drive through the wonderful market gardens with their neat rows of vegetables or visit the magnificent cliffs on K road - there are endless things to do in Werribee South.

Very long stormy beach. At this time of year a stormy if scenic beach which offers a good opportunity for a walk. Lots of seabirds to watch while walk.

The only beach in the area and there is so little car-parking that at times we have given up. The car-park is usually full of cars with boat trailers who get there early and there are no parking signs all along both sides of the beach road where there is ample space. Rather silly of the council to spend money setting up the BBQ's and play equipment without thinking about how and where people are going to travel and park.

Werribee South beach is set up as a great place to have a family BBQ. Facilities are available and children's play equipment. We regularly go down there to enjoy the beach air and the scenery.
