About
Soak up the richness of Werribee Park, an estate built on the wealth of an Australian pastoral empire. Experience the grandeur of the Werribee Mansion, set up a picnic in the beautiful formal gardens or see a kaleidoscope of colour when the 5000 roses bloom in the Victoria State Rose Garden. Once the working heart of the Werribee Park estate, the remaining bluestone outbuildings of the farmyard provide a stark contrast to the elaborate craftsmanship of the Chirnside Mansion. Wander down to the heritage orchard and see the work the community and Parks Victoria have put in to preserve and restore the fruit orchard originally planted by the Chirnside family in the late 1800s.

Werribee Park Mansion was built by a wealthy Australian pastoral dynasty who rode on the sheep's back. It's been restored, making it a great insight into life in times gone by. The lawns and gardens make it a great place for a picnic. The fruit orchard, planted by the owners in the late 1880s, has been restored and is quite fascinating. Werribe Park is open to the public.

Visited the Werribee park On 26th of November. This is a very nice place to have your family day out here. Having a very large lawn with plenty of shadded trees. Entrance is free.
There is a old Mansion built in 1800 AD, and now taken over by VC authority.very beautiful architectural historical building.
You have to pay a entrance fee to see this Mansion.
Also very beautiful Rose Garden adjoining the werribee park, that's also can visit free of charge.this beautiful rose garden is maintained by the volunteers.
You must not miss to visit this places when you in Melbourne.it will be appx 2 hours car drive from CBD.

Open to the public, these gardens is quite lovely. Very well maintained, there are paths going everywhere and grassed areas for a gathering. Lots of large shady trees as well.

The gardens that surround the Werribee Mansion are a mix of large Australian and International trees and shrubs. There are many large Australian Bunya Pines, large Eucalypts (Lemon Scented Gums), a large Morton Bay Fig and many trees from Africa, Europe, North America and elsewhere. Beatiful gardens, and along with the rose garden and Mansion, makes a good day out.

My wife and I visited this Park after our visit to the Werribee Open Range zoo. The grounds are extensive and are well maintained. Car parking is free.
The weather was a perfect sunny day with a top of 23 degrees during our visit.

This is quite surprising. Just because this was not part of our itinerary and a friend based in Melbourne recommended this park. Love everything in it, from the Mansion to the Rose Garden. Mind you, the Park hosted 2 Elton John concerts.

We went to the park today to check out the rose garden and homestead surrounds.
This is a big place, so make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes.
All the roses were in bloom, so that was a bonus.
If you want to tour the inside of the main homestead it is $10.40 per adult. If you don’t want to do that there are plenty of other things to see for free. There are no entry fees into the garden itself and there are plenty of car parks.
There are also plenty of places where you can sit under a tree and have your lunch if you bring it yourself.
Well worth a visit.

We shared a lovely spa. Before the spa we had a swim and use of the gym. Then after we had a walk around the house.

Visited this a number of times with family and a huge gathering of friends and on each occasion loved it especially if it is a pleasant day to enjoy it's surrounds and lovely rose gardens. The Mansion has heaps of history and beautifully decorated with ornate furniture. Allow a few hours to stroll around inside and out. There is a small cafe that provides small meals and drinks. This a great family or group gathering place to enjoy yourselves.
