Beautiful Destination, but Disappointing Customer Service
We visited this place today, and overall, it was a nice experience. The place is beautiful, and we enjoyed it. However, the reception staff could use some improvement. The ladies at the counter were a bit rude and not very friendly, which dampened our initial impression. Other than that, it was a good visit.

Beautiful place with great views and lovely animals
The place and furry animals are great. We did the tractor ride ($7) which was ok - at least the driver smiled at us. We also did the North Circuit walk with super views of the bay and birds. But the humans ( reception and cafe) really need to up their game - not welcoming (especially when compared to staff in other local places), no smiles, no enthusiasm. Coffee ok but luke-warm, and service slow.

    Family visit to working farm
Working farm with beautiful scenery and animals. Went with husband and baby. Our little one probably would have appreciated it more if they were older but still fun to wander around and see the animals. Different activities planned throughout the day e.g cow milking, sheep shearing etc. Devonshire tea at the cafe near entrance was the highlight. Sit on the deck with beautiful views and enjoy a cuppa with scones. Tickets reasonably priced for entry. Will visit again next time we are on Phillip island.

We had read online about the sheep shearing, which was the main activity that we wanted to see. So we had made special arrangements to arrive at 2pm in order to see it. Sadly it was not on. Apparently just the school holidays and the weekend which is a real shame. The sheep dog demonstration and the whip cracking was fun, but perhaps not really worthy of the admission fee alone.

Sorry you didn't get to see the shearing. Unfortunately it isn't something we are able to do every day. We do make sure we have some activities and are glad the dog demonstration and whip cracking were fun.

We really enjoyed the visit. We initially went there around 10:00 where we were greeted by a fine young gentleman who was very nice and friendly. He was able to answer all our curious questions about the island and the surroundings.
The lady who demonstrated the whip cracking and other activities was very kind and friendly we really enjoyed spending the whole day there. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. Although it rained every now and then, we managed to make the most out of it.
We enjoyed petting the animals and milking the cow.

Great whole round experience including the Blacksmith demonstration with Bob and seeing the new born Lambs with Chloe. The restaurant served up a lovely egg and bacon in a Turkish roll washed down with a Cappachino. Good value.

Visited this farm in July with family. We loved the relax country feel and rolling green hills. This farm was set on an island and it is located right next to the waters.

On our day of visit, we attended the daily shows such as cow milking, sheep shearing, working dog show and whips cracking. The demonstrator was a charming lady that encouraged visitors to try eaxh experience hands on. We also loved the farm animals which included horses, donkey, cows, sheeps, chickens, guinea pigs, goats etc. It was overall a fun and entertaining afternoon for the entire family.

Tips: Try to arrive by noon for the daily shows

Hi Susie813 Thanks for your review, and so glad you enjoyed your visit to this lovely location - and we agree that it's an enchanting place. Great tip to enjoy around midday, in time for the farm demonstrations. Kind regards

Today I visited this wonderful place, historic home, nature reserve and past working farm. The information plaques told a story of how our ancestors had a drive to make a life for themselves in what was a frontier territory. There are various activities throughout the day.

I had lunch at the cafe and it was the best quinoa, brown rice and chicken salad I’ve ever had. Lots of great choice for lunch and snacks, all very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

There is plenty of space for kids to run around and picnic benches so you can pack your own lunch if you don’t want to eat at the restaurant.

Very highly recommended.

A terrific place to take the kids and, if you don’t have any of those, it could be even better on your own. Plenty of animals wandering around the stables and the kids loved the animal nursery. Friendly staff roaming around the grounds, making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The gardens of the property are so gorgeous and lots of places to put down a picnic rug and enjoy some food you’ve brought along. Wish we’d thought of that as we didn’t fancy any of the fried food offerings from the cafe. Such a peaceful and relaxing property with stunning views. We arrived at 11 and found we’d just missed an animal demonstration at 10.30. The next demonstration was either 1.30 or 2 o’clock which was a long time to get thru with a two and a half year old. Maybe more interactive demos for the public to watch or maybe come after lunch? A reasonable entry fee too.

Such a relaxing day. We really enjoyed the historical aspect of the property as well as roaming through the gardens and seeing a range of farm animals including chickens, ducks, goats, cows, sheep and horses.

Stay and get a chance to have a go at milking a cow and whip cracking. You can also watch the farm dog round up the sheep. There is also a shearing demonstration on the weekends only.

Lots of shady spots to sit and relax and take in the scenery. There is also a cafe on site for a bite to eat.

Highly recommend

My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Phillip Island. The farm has a variety of well fed animals and poultry. The peacocks were interesting to watch.

There was a demonstration of sheep shearing for wool, a demonstration of sheep herding by a border collie named Billy and a demonstration of usage of herding whips.

We also walked the 2.2 km North hiking circuit to enjoy the physical exercise and the scenery. The Spring weather was perfect for this walk.

This was a really pleasant environment to wander around in. The entrance fee is reasonable and you are really left to your own devices to what you want to do and see. There are shows but they are not mandatory. The island walking circuit round the island is particularly pleasant.

This place is a step back in time for you. The scenery is beautiful. Grounds were clean and tidy and gardens lovely to walk around and view. The old homestead was amazing and fascinating to see. The children really were fascinated in all the history the place offered. The tractor ride was a big hit with them as well. The scattered games on the grounds for you to play was great. WE picnicked on the lawn and it was a relaxing day. However the café looks amazing so if a picnic is not on your agenda you can go there. Beautiful place to visit. Staff were friendly and the admission cost very reasonable. Just be mindful of your footwear. I suggest not thongs. We saw many people with inappropriate footwear. Sneakers better choice.
