Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rain started as we arrived, but we found a warm friendly atmosphere inside the cafe. My husband and I shared large warm scones with berry jam and cream.
Trying to find Addison Street can be a little confusing, but Kate has put up many signs which clearly show the way.
I was especially pleased to meet and chat with the "real Kate".
The local people were thankful for rain as the area doesn't receive a whole lot.

Kate’s Berry Farm was a lovely place for a meal break. Upon driving up to the cafe, the stunning display of vibrant purples daisies attract your attention. Jam tasting is on offer once inside the cafe along with a tour of the farm. While we didn’t go on the tour, we did order lunch. My friend ordered Humbleberry Pie which was chocked full of berries. I had French crepes with Berry compote and vanilla ice-cream. Both were delicious. Service was pleasant and very fast. This is a pleasant place to stop along the East Coast drive.

We had lunch at Kate’s Berry Farm today. Lovely spot, great views from the cafe & welcoming staff. We ordered 2 toasted sandwiches, plus a mug of coffee & a pot of Earl Grey tea for 1… and we just had to try a piece of Pie with icecream to share for dessert. The pie was definitely delicious but such a small serving for an $18.50 charge! But we are glad we tried it. The berry flavours were so rich & intense. Just rather expensive.

Not a berry farm at all. No fresh berries during berry season….not even a berry plant/cane in sight. More a small, desolate, former berry patch, devoid of plants and several fruit trees, with no leaves.
$14 for 2 coffees in disposable cups, overlooking the dusty driveway where all visitor traffic passes less than 2m away from the dining tables.
Chocolates packed in little plastic jars with a healthy tourist mark up. Who knows what is actually made on site!
Actually quite amusing how sad it was. Captive audience on the East Coast tourist route?
Don’t bother turning off the main road.

So over commercialised and expensive now and nothing really special anymore. We ordered 2 desserts and didn't like either of them- at $16ea they should have been amazing. The so called 'oosing chocolate cake' (or words to that effect) was overcooked as it didn't oose at all and they tried to compensate this with fudge sauce around the base. It was just like a normal basic chocolate cake dressed with a few raspberries and ice-cream. The humble berry pie was quite tart, not enough of the too soft pastry to take away from this. Not special at all. Apart from this the products there are ridiculously overpriced- $16 for small jars of chocolate coated strawberries! In these times they really need to learn to cater to people who live here, not cashed up tourists. I used to come here whenever in the area, don't think I'll bother anymore.

Very disappointed to find ‘Kates Berry Farm’ was completely devoid of fresh berries. The cafe/shop is incredibly expensive with $13.50 small jars of jam. $16.50 for a scone, jam and cream. $22.50 for a piece of berry pie. No RV or caravan parking on a hard-to-access site.

Good signage and highly anticipated. Big let down, Kate was cranky and very short, someone had freeze dried her personality with the strawberries - just waiting for the next bus of tourists (dollars) to arrive. Expensive and not much value - we couldn’t be bothered looking at chocolate, electric fences around the strawberries would have been nice to have a walk. Unless you are in an Asian tour group don’t bother,

We had lunch here on our Tassie trip and had the seafood crepes which were delicious and quite big portions.
Lovely spot with friendly staff and great coffee.
Just note if coming in towing a caravan (which we were not) space is very limited and tight.

We loved our visit to Kate’s Berry Farm and adored chatting with Kate about our respective overseas travels particularly at this time when Covid has clipped our wings. But about the food - we had crepes (chicken for me, seafood for my birthday boy). Both hit the lunch time spot very nicely. We followed up with some of Kate’s delicious berry ice cream. Kate’s store has some amazing produce. I came away with a bottle of Strawberry Liqueur (which subsequently went perfectly in my Devil’s Corner bubbles) and a jar of Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark Chocolate. I’m definitely going back for more - next time Strawberries in White Chocolate - will be a treat for Easter. Kate gets a top record from me.

Best strawberries I’ve ever had! However, my partner and I ordered a regular cappuccino and a soy latte (I’m allergic to dairy) for take away. I watched them pour the dairy milk into the milk frother, and use the same dairy milk from the same frother for both drinks. We watched them make the coffees and pour the milk so when I double checked and asked that it was soy milk (maybe she’d forgotten), she said yes and handed it to me instead of correcting it. We drove elsewhere to find a different coffee.
