Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not a berry farm at all. No fresh berries during berry season….not even a berry plant/cane in sight. More a small, desolate, former berry patch, devoid of plants and several fruit trees, with no leaves.

$14 for 2 coffees in disposable cups, overlooking the dusty driveway where all visitor traffic passes less than 2m away from the dining tables.

Chocolates packed in little plastic jars with a healthy tourist mark up. Who knows what is actually made on site!

Actually quite amusing how sad it was. Captive audience on the East Coast tourist route?

Don’t bother turning off the main road.

Very disappointed to find ‘Kates Berry Farm’ was completely devoid of fresh berries. The cafe/shop is incredibly expensive with $13.50 small jars of jam. $16.50 for a scone, jam and cream. $22.50 for a piece of berry pie. No RV or caravan parking on a hard-to-access site.

We stopped for a mid morning snack. The jams are tasty and yummy. Horrified that in 2023 the coffee is severed in take away cups and jam/cream and scones come in disposable continents and plates. Not environmentally friendly. Scones were not overly tasty and I wondered if they used a premix as we could the baking powder for several hours afterwards.

This is well worth a visit if you are travelling in the area. Make a note and time to stop.

A great little quaint berry farm with a shop, cafe and plenty of tables and chairs inside and out.

We bought some Jam, had a 'real' strawberry milkshake and great flat white.

Service was very friendly and we loved our brief stopover here

This place gets rave reviews in the travel brochures . . . but I really don’t know!! I think I just expected better.
Berry crops grow here are clearly not enough to supply the wares for sale, although I understand Tassie island berries are also sourced. No paper menu, or wall menu, and a QR code with “Jump the queue with me and you”, does not do it for me – sorry.
I know it is still hard to get staff, but those that were there seemed pretty uninterested in the concept of “customer service”.
In their defence, I did buy some of their jams etc. and on return home these were delicious on brekkie toast.

The humbleberry pie is amazing, all the sweet dishes look amazing.
Lovely, shady places to sit out, views out over the ocean in the distance to Freycinet.
Well worth a visit.
