Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Penguin is a pretty town and the civic pride in their public places is very evident. The parkland along the foreshore is well maintained and there are many places to stop and reflect. The views towards Bass Strait are impressive too. You’ll probably find a penguin or two, a Tardis and some mosaics.

Fun foreshore with sense of humour – oversized Penguin (of course!!), Dr Who Book Library, bollards made to look like penguins and rubbish bins also decorated with .... penguins. Really fun and happy place to be and seems like the locals of Penguin are extremely proud of their towns name. Nice to see and I think the visitors agree.

This is one of the prettiest little towns and it just continues to improve. The beach is wonderful And it just continues to improve. Lots of little penguin things, a cute little book swap right on the foreshore. The are comfy seats, picnic areas and green grass. Good kids playground and right across the road lots of cafes and shops. Love it!!

This beautiful little town was an unexpected stop but so glad we visited. Cute little shops offering a range of items. Great cafes and a new addition of a small wine boutiques shop that we loved and purchased from.

This is a really nice area. I really enjoyed walking along here with my dog, the view of Bass Strait and the beach is beautiful. This is also a good place if you have children, who would marvel at the giant penguin and play in the playground.
It's a good place to relax and enjoy the view, with seating looking out at the water.
Everything you need is right by you, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc.
I recommend walking along here if you visit Penguin!

Penguin is a charming township in North West Tasmania. (Just down the road from Devonport) With a name like Penguin the town has elected to make the most of the name and various penguin-themed shops, statues and odds and ends are a real delight.Right on the coast overlooking the water, Penguin has some lovely stores and cafes. Well worth a look.

Follow the little yellow Penguin steps and enjoy this beautiful town. Great accommodation options, good cafes, beautiful ocean views, awesome skate park for the kids and pretty cool mountain bike tracks so close to the town.

We saw penguins early in our trip at Bicheno so the Burnie penguins were just we are here lets walk up and have a look. Our experience at Burnie made Bicheno look second rate. Buy a torch during the day before you go. Volunteers will for a gold coin donation ($2) give red cellophane to cover the light and you are free to view as many penguins and chicks as you like for as long as you like. Bicheno cost us $70 ($35 each) and we saw very little due to pushy people and a time limited tour.
