Tassie Bound Adventure Tours is an award-winning, locally owned and operated, Tasmanian kayaking company, offering transformative half and full day adventure experiences within the Derwent Valley. Husband and wife team, Fiona and Liam Weaver, have been curating with nature since 2011, providing trips which uncover secrets only locals know exist and adventures worthy of sharing! A Tassie Bound Adventure Tour can be best described as receiving a VIP backstage pass to our local region; combining breathtaking Tasmanian scenery, local guides, world-class produce with a little excitement!

Spent a glorious morning paddling with Liam from Tassie Bound Adventures Tours. The tour travels down the Derwent River through beautiful country, The paddling was fun through class 1 and 2 rapids and flowing flat water.. We stoped at a lovely rock platform for a delicious lunch with a small waterfall and a safe pool to swim in. On the trip we saw 3 platypus, q grey goshawks, plus numerous other waterbirds. Liam was an excellent guide informing us of the history and environmental aspects of the river. He is a local and was able to impart his knowledge of the river and the people living beside it. If you enjoy nature and being around water I would highly recommend this trip.

Would highly recommend Tassie Bound.
We had a FANTASTIC day on the beautiful river Derwent which combined adventure , Mother Nature , local history and FUN in equal measure with a delicious lunch thrown in in glorious surroundings.
We saw several platypuses on our decent as well as a grey heron , a few goshawks and cormorants all up- close and personal.
Liam and Fiona’s passion for what they do and love for the Derwent Valley is abundantly evident.
Liam made us all feel safe on the river as we shot small rapids even teaching us to break into flowing water at the end of our trip which resulted in a few dunkings and lots of laughs.
All in all a TOP DAY OUT and one of the highlights of our Tassie trip.

Amazing opportunity to see Platypus in the wild. The kayaking and guide down the river would have been enough but the bonus of seeing Platypus swimming around made our trip.

We have done the evening kayak tour. It was the greatest kayak experience we have ever done before and we really recommend this activity.
The Derwent river and the surrounding area provide breathtaking scenery. I felt I was in fairy tale.
Tour guide was friendly as well with lots of local knowledge. They also provided chocolate browny which was the best browny I ever had.
We had 6 years old boy and we he could participate the tour as well by tandem. He really enjoyed the tour as well.
We appreciate that Tassie Bound provided this tour and it became our unforgettable memory.

Fiona and Liam were gracious and warm which made our last experience in Tassie a memorable one. Highly recommend this tour of the Derwent River and sighting an amazing creature of the animal kingdom which we did in spades on this enchanting evening!

Lovely trip with Liam in the Twilight. We saw 5 platypus, an eagles nest and many more birds and a georgus forest scenery. Both Liam and Fiona were really nice, communicative and helpful all the time and guided us perfectly. Thanks for the best wilderness tour in Tasmania!

Fantastic from start to finish! We booked one day prior at the last minute. Fiona was so professional and helpful in organising our trip. Liam took guided us safely on our journey. One of us experienced and myself not very experienced. We felt 100 per cent safe and in good hands. The scenery was out of this world on the river and to see platypus in their natural habitat was a once in a lifetime experience. 4 of the best hours I have ever spent in my life. A must do when you visit Tasmania and a scenic, easy drive from Hobart. Highly recommended! Thank you so much Liam and Fiona

We saw 5 platypus on our adventure!
Liam was an amazing guide. The river was absolutely beautiful and quiet. We had a lot of fun, it was easy, relaxing and exciting all at once.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening kayak on the Derwent River with Liam. Well organized and equiped! Liam was knowledgeable, patient and engaging as we easily paddled down stream enjoying the vista, conversation and spotting p!atypus! Loved the tea and brownies! Will be booked another tour with Tassie Bound next time we visit Tassie!
