This is the second time I have done the Lake Pedder paddle with Tassie Bound Adventure Tours. I first did this tour in November 2018 and have wanted to repeat the experience ever since. I've done quite a few trips with Fiona and Liam from Tassie Bound and I've loved every one of them. The drive from Hobart to Lake Pedder is spectacular in itself and last Wednesday provided perfect conditions at the lake. We started in mild, slightly overcast conditions but within about 30 minutes the clouds lifted to reveal blue sky and sunshine, and the magnificent mountain peaks that surround the lake. Lunch was on a small quartzite beach with wraps made from Fiona and Liam's fresh garden veggies, not a sound except for our voices, and the stunning scenery all around us. Wraps and hot coffee were followed by Fiona's unequalled chocolate brownies providing the energy required for the paddle home. Fiona and Liam are exceptional guides and are able to provide lots of interesting information about all the areas where their tours take place. I highly recommend their tours and I'm looking forward to the next time I go paddling with them.

We decided at the last minute to book the River Derwent Rapid Tour and we're really glad we did. We didn't go into it expecting too much, just a nice paddle down the Derwent on a 40 degree day, but the reality far exceeded our expectations. Liam was a wonderful guide and he and Fiona provided us with a lovely lunch (especially the brownies) that we enjoyed on the riverbank. We would recommend Tassie Bound to anyone looking to enjoy something a bit different and will definitely be back next time we're in Tassie. Thanks so much Liam and Fiona.

What a great experience, absolutely beautiful environment, perfect weather and a great proffesional and friendly guide . Thanks Liam, we loved it all, yummy lunch ( including Fiona's famous chocolate brownies) great info about the region and history of the lake development, even the unexpected dip in the lake was a treat. We recommend to anyone who wants a great Tassie experience in a truly exceptional environment.

We had a voucher as a Christmas present for the daytime Derwent River kayak. Our guide was Liam, who was so much fun and had so much local knowledge. After arriving at the meeting point, we all travelled in the mini bus to the river, where we had a bit of a demo with the kayaks and got all our gear. We then kayaked the Derwent, and were lucky enough to see some wildlife (birds of prey, and platypus!). Liam was great at pointing out all the birds and telling us about the land and river (and it’s history) at every point. We stopped for lunch in the middle, which was so well catered to our complicated dietaries (combinations of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). We also had a go at a couple of rapids, which was heaps of fun. The time flew and we couldn’t recommend this company more! Would love to go back for a sunset kayak. Even as a local, this was so worth doing! You get to travel parts of the Derwent that back onto private land, so it’s pretty special. 10/10 day!

Liam was a fantastic guide, friendly, fun and very experienced. We had an awesome morning Kayaking as a family (with teens and a young child). Lake Pedder is stunning and it was such a beautiful way to see it. Liam looked after us and was very professional, the lunch was delicious, the hot chai tea very welcome to warm us up on a cold day and my boys couldn’t get enough of the brownies. We would definitely recommend this tour to others and we hope to come back and do it again in the warmer months.

We enjoyed everything of our Lake Pedder paddle, the tour was well organised, Fiona and Liam made everybody feel comfortable and share their extensive knowledge of the area in an entertaining way. The food they provided was fresh and delicious, we had great weather and even had a swim in the lake. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, our family would definitely be happy to repeat the experience.

I really enjoyed our paddle on Lake Pedder. We headed out from the Lodge's wharf. There was a little bit of rain at the start but by the time we reached the island for lunch my walking pants were dry again! The scenery is gorgeous and Liam and Fiona were wonderful guides. As everyone has said in previous reviews, the wraps and brownie was so delicious. It was nice to be to stretch my legs part way through on Horseshoe Island. The water was bizarrely warm - my daughter enjoyed a swim at the end. I would definitely recommend this trip. This is a great small family business proudly employing locals and it has a strong sustainability ethic.

Our absolute pleasure adventuring with you in the Western Wilds and we're stoked it was warm enough for a swim. Great memories. Big Lake 💙 Fiona and Liam Weaver

Fiona and Liam run a well organised trip. They were very friendly and attentive to the members of the group the day we went out. Weather was perfect and the morning tea/lunch was delicious. My only recommendation to those attending is in the information sent out on booking it says not to take a camera as plenty of photos will be taken by the operators. The day we went out, nearly everybody brought a camera, and we regretted leaving our water proof cameras in the hotel room as we thought they were not allowed to bring them. We did get sent a link to photos at the end of the day, but would have taken many of the scenery, and a few more of each other. Still a lovely way to see Lake Pedder from a different angle.

Hi Jatvla, Thank you for exploring Derwent Valley Tasmania's Western Wilds with us and for taking the time to review your adventure. Thank you also for your feedback re cameras. The information sent out at booking is a guide. Absolutely if people want to bring their own cameras they're welcome at their own risk. We've been operating for almost 10 years and guests taking items of value on the kayaks doesn't always end well. We don't have any dry storage on kayaks so cannot recommend guests bring valuable items along. The Lake Goddess can be be hungry and we've witnessed mobile phones and cameras swallowed up and car keys left on the beaches on the tours. We're also a little romantic and love the idea in our over connected world that for 3 hours guests can sit back and take it all in as we feel photos can't quite capture the beauty of the region. We do take lots of photos and provide free of charge soon after tour completion and always happy to take extra if asked. Thank you again for the feedback, for your wonderful review and supporting our regional tour business. Much appreciated. Fiona and Liam Weaver

A group of 5 of us had a great day with Liam on beautiful Lake Pedder yesterday. Most of us returning for 3rd or 4th time. As locals it is great to explore the different moods of of our lakes and rivers. As always Liam and Fiona make sure they can cater to everyone of all ages and fitness and are passionate about our wilderness. Their knowledge empowers their travellers to want to explore more of our wonderful waterways and forest areas. We are locals and will definitely be returning to share more experiences with them. Great value for families, solo travellers and groups 😀

We did the Lake Pedder paddling experience. There were 5 adults in our group and each of those paddling said how good it was. The mountain scenery is some of the best you'll ever see. It was capped off with an informative narrative from the tour owners Fiona and Liam...and a chia tea with chocolate brownies on a secluded island beach.
