Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the same trail that leads to the Russell Falls the trail heads upwards with a lot of steps up to the viewing platform. It is very well constructed and doable by all however there are a lot of steps so take your time. The falls themselves are nice and probably more impressive after heavy rains.

After completing the 99 steps at MONA, surely 200 steps won't be a challenge? Well, is was , but we made it. From the falls we took the path to the Tall Trees Walk.

Despite an arduous two hundred and thirty-seven steps upward, the Horseshoe Falls, which actually sits just above Russell Falls, is arguably the more scenic of the two falls. It offers itself as a sight like the quiet and shy sibling who is in reality the more charming of the two.
Very photogenic, irrespective of the amount of water flowing.

Starting out at the Mount Field visitors centre you follow the signs to Russell Falls, at Russell Falls you will see the Horseshoe Falls sign post. It’s a further 15 min walk. Although you need to walk about 200 plus steps.

About 1 hour return. Including the viewing of Russell and Horseshoe Falls.

Sitting above a few steep steps from Russels Falls, Horseshoe Falls is worth the visit if you don't mind the trek. Not as majestic as Russels, however it was still worth the climb with the Tall trees walk around the corner.

Also to be noted, you can access Horseshoe falls from the Tall trees walk trek parking and climb down towards Russels Falls (however, you'll still need to make the trek back towards the parking spot)

Sitting above Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls can be visited by a return walk from Russell Falls or as part of the Three Waterfalls Circuit. I would recommend the latter as it is a very pleasant walk that can also include the Tall Trees circuit.

Beautiful forest scenery and a pretty waterfall.

Unfortunately for Horseshoe Falls, it pales when compared to nearby Russell Falls. Incorporate these falls into the 3 Falls Circuit to fully appreciate the Park.

Horseshoe Falls is located above Russell Falls. It is an off shoot from the circuit walk from the Visitor's Centre. It is a steep walk up at times but there are plenty of benches for rest stops along the way. Stunning forest scenery and you pass by the top of Russell Falls for a different perspective. Worth the walk up.

Beautiful natural setting.
Worth the short walk from Russell Falls but not worth a special trip from Hobart

Above Russell Falls is the smaller Horseshoe Falls. It calls for a significant walk up stairs to the top of the falls but worth it. The falls are small but pretty. Take the walk up.
