Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a stunning start to our Tassie girls weekend!
Jaime and Christine couldn't have been more helpful, informative, attentive and generous. Great locally sourced food and wines supplied for our sunset sail around Bruny Island in perfect conditions. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

We had a 3 day/2 night cruise with James and Leigh. We are from Queensland, so it took a little time to acclimatise, but it was worth it. James is a very skilled and knowledgeable sailor who has the ability to communicate clearly and effectively for anyone who is keen to learn more about sailing. He was supportive, informative and managed the boat in a way that made everyone aboard feel safe and, eventually, we became more confident managing the sails and helming. We cruised between the mainland and Bruny Island which proved to be a beautiful trip visiting secluded bays and islands, and we enjoyed some very scenic walks. This was all topped off with a few drinks and nice meals to make this a truly memorable adventure.

What a day! We set out with glasslike conditions and sailed gently to our lunch spot. The clouds cleared and the wind picked up for our trip back and the sailing was fantastic. Delicious food. Great wine. Great company. Thank you Captain Jamie and crew member Albi.

We picked the wrong day, it was mighty cold but with the strong wind we had a thrilling ride. Make sure to rug up and you won’t be disappointed. James, the captain is a confident sailor, he was helped out by Natalie. Cheese and biscuits were washed down by local wines before our return journey.

We were lucky enough to enjoy the most perfect day on the water with Sailtas. Jamie did an amazing job of maintaining safety and control of the boat while involving all of us in the sailing experience. Evie was great at taking care of everyone and even volunteered to join the kids for a game of Uno below decks when they got bored. The yacht is beautifully appointed and very comfortable and the food provided was delicious. Overall we had a fantastic day that exceeded all of our expectations.

We spent a wonderful three hours out on the water with Jamie and Pamela exploring the waters around Bruny Island. Being the only two aboard it was a fabulous private charter, a rare opportunity to dream of a cruising lifestyle. The boat was incredibly spacious, well-appointed and comfortable and our captain and first mate were so welcoming. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a unique Tasmanian experience.

We had a wonderful introduction to sailing and the landscape around Bruny Island with Jamie (and helper Natalie) on his beautiful 42 foot yacht. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and we could choose where to go based on Jamie’s recommendations and the weather. Our double cabin was spacious, the weather was mild, the seas were calm and we had delicious food and wines. We had the chance to see some areas of the island only accessible by boat and had walks and swims on deserted beaches. Highly recommended - next time we’ll do the 5 day tour!

Our 5 days with Jamie on Sea G were a highlight of our Tassie tour and one of the best family experiences we’ve had.
Sailing and being on the water for multiple days meant we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the incredible Tassie landscape and experience the south east coast in an incomparable.
Our itinerary was perfect – sailing around the north Bruny Island around the breathtaking capes of the Tasman Peninsula and Tasman Island to Fortescue Bay, Maria Island, and back from through the channel at Dunalley.
Past the capes, Jamie anchored at a protected and gorgeous little cove which allowed us to hike the stunning Cape Hauy (and experience multiple echidna encounters).
Sailing onto Maria Island, with my son at the helm, we were joined by seals and dozens of dolphins darting through the waves at the bow much to everyone’s excitement.
On Maria Island, Jamie took us on a guided walk of old ruins as well as wombat spotting (we counted 24 in an hour!). Diving off the boat and swimming at our gorgeous Maria Island anchorage, we were all stunned by the pristine turquoise waters and long, white deserted beaches. You’d be forgiven for thinking you were in the Whitsundays – only without the crowds!
The sailing itself was a wonderful experience for us all with our various levels of experience. The whole family participated – tacking and trimming sails and being on the helm as well as learning knots and navigation.
Jamie was the perfect host – patient yet encouraging and full of knowledge, happily sharing his years of sailing experience with us. He was always mindful of the forecast and was led by the conditions when planning each night’s anchorage to maximise comfort.
The catering was excellent – returning to the yacht each afternoon after hiking, swimming and exploring, we enjoyed a platter of local cheeses with Tassie wines and beer following by a wonderful meal including chicken korma, seafood chowder. Jamie and his deck hand Natalie were also great company over dinner, giving us great insight into Tassie history and culture.
Sea G, a 42-foot Catalina, was immaculately maintained and so comfortable with its roomy saloon and well-equipped kitchen. And the cabins were perfect.
We were all very sad for our 5 days to come to an end and loved our adventure so much with Jamie on Sea G, we plan to return for an 8 day sail to Flinders Island. We can’t recommend this trip enough to anyone: families or adults of all ages on a getaway weekend with friends. I

My wife and I went with Captain Jamie on a 3 day / 2 night sail charter. We were in Tasmania for two weeks, and it was the best part of our trip. It was our first time sailing and they made us feel very comfortable on board. You will wish you were sailing every day. Great food, great company. Fishing and going ashore for hikes. Waves and smooth seas. We got it all, and would recommend it to anybody going to Tasmania. We only wish we would have went longer!
