Unless you have never been kayaking and view crossing the street as a dangerous undertaking, the kayak trip of Freycinet Adventures offers the same amount of adventure as wading in a children's swimming pool.
The kayaks are big, heavy, clunky and impossible to tip. They have spray skirts to seal the cockpits--the purpose is to keep out the water splashed about by the paddlers. But, the spray skirts are not water proof and result in the interior of the kayak accumulating (and you sitting in) quite a bit of water. Non waterproof spray skirts are like slightly porous prophylactics--completely worthless.
Then the trip. A long boring pull into the wind across the bay to a beach where there are---houses? What, we could have walked or driven here.
What to see? Oh, here is a former rock quarry. You see some blocks of stone.
No sea life, no wild life. Why did I pay for this?
We stop for snacks. It is usually a telling sign that there is nothing to see when the guides want you to linger at the snacks.
Then, a long, boring pull back to the original beach.
If you think I am harsh, ask Freycinet adventures what I have portrayed inaccurately.
