Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Make sure you stop here to stock up on food and drink before visiting Freycinet National Park. There is no food or drink available from the park visitor centre or once in the park. There is an excellent cafe and fish and chip shop and also a convenience store in the road leading to the Coles Bay jetty. Views from the Coles bay jetty are great.

We made a pit stop for lunch at Coles bay and were amazed to find the views across the bay and the licken covered rocks just a mere couple of metres from the jetty. Well worth the short drive from the town centre to see the rocks.

My husband and I was given this trip as a gift I like boats but don't love them so the idea of being on a boat for 4/5 hours didn't get me excited

We were seated in the Sky lounge so I can only review from that point of view as I didn't venue down stairs the whole day, and let me tell you the staff do everyone possible to make this journey one of the best, the food the drinks all plentiful. They are very generous, we even had a surprise treat of some local Oysters and local wine , oh and did I mention the view

When we arrived the boat I found was much larger than the ones used at Bruny Island and more enclosed, so more protection from the weather
Anna and Noah are amazing entertainers and nothing was a problem, the service and banter was exceptional

The weather was overcast and flat in the Bay but a bit choppy through the channel
Ginger tablets were offered and I would advise if you are able to eat ginger take them, they also stock ginger beer on board if you feel queasy or just like ginger beer
If you do suffer from travel sickness my advice would be to stand up and look forward, preferably outside in the fresh air, I find sitting makes me feel sicker

we were lucky enough to see seals lazing on the rocks and a fleeting glimpse of a flying fish along the way

The scenery is second to none and Noah did all he could to ensure where ever you were sitting on the boat you got a good look, by turning the boat every direction

It was a great day , so much fun I would definitely do again, and even though the sky lounge is a bit more expensive if you have the budget for it , just do it

Very windy here today on an otherwise beautiful and fine day. Good spot for private launching of boats and jet skis.
Lovely views.

Staying in Coles bay area, we drove around the esplanade and came across this jetty. The surrounding waters were very clear. We saw some boats docked here. The nearby rocks were colourful and you get good views of the mountains across the water. Nice place to take a short walk by yourself and catch some fresh air.

Down by the jetty in Coles Bay you get a sense of the scale of the Hazards, get your hair whipped by the wind and sea salt spray on your face. A nice short stop to get refreshments in the shop after the walk to Wineglass Bay lookout.

We stopped in briefly for a toilet break and wander on our way back from the walks in the national park. Great views over the water to The Hazards, with boats in the foreground and mountains in the distance over the water. There is a boat ramp here, plus jetty, and basic toilets, plus a corner shop nearby. I love the water, and it was a nice place to spend some time on a breezy day.

Walking out onto the Coles Bay jetty made us wish we had bought our fishing gear with us this trip. Incredibly clear blue water allows you to watch the fish and squid swim past. Grab a pie and coffee from the bakery and wander out for a very restful lunch.

When the wind is not blowing and you can get a float out try here for squid. Night time is better. Apart from the fishing it's a nice little area to check out the boats and you can grab a coffee at a Cafe not too far away.
