This is an unusual rock formation carved by the sea through the rock face and can be viewed from two easy to get to viewing decks. Well worth the 4km drive off the main road toPort Arthur. Can also view Tasman Arch and see wallaby’s along the way.

You know what they say, if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen!! A cool detour off the main road. Not much to see once you're there, but good to stretch the legs.

After a great meal at the Port Arthur Lavender Farm, we took a short trip over to the Devil's Kitchen and Tasman Arch.
There were ample parking space when we arrived as it was later in the afternoon.
From there, a sign direct us where to walk, and it was a lovely walk.
There was a look out point where we got to see the Tasman Sea once again from above (we had experienced it from below during the cruise). The sight is awesome.
From there, we head over to the Tasman Arch. It was fenced up from all side to prevent anyone from falling over, but it still provide a good viewing point, it was quite a wonder to see the Arch being carved not by the hands of men and amazed by the power of nature.
After viewing the Arch, one could opt to drive over to the next carpark where the Devil's kitchen is situated or hike there by foot. With the weather being so fine, we chose to walk there.
Arriving at the Devil's Kitchen, we could hear some roaring sound. It was made by the waves rushing into this narrow canal and crushing against the wall within. Look at this, we liken it more to a washing machine than a kitchen. Anyone were to trap in that canal when the wave rush in, would feel like being rolled in around in the drum of a washing machine.
Apart from the Arch and the Devi;'s Kitchen, one could also get to see the cliff faces and the various impact the Southern wind and waves causes on these rock walls.
We do enjoyed this short retreat, the whole walk lasted about an hour plus.
If one were to come over for this view, would be good to add other spot on the itinerary though, as that would make the journey from Hobart more worthwhile.

Worth seeing! A walk down a few flights of steps show a beautiful natural formation and the Lookout above has beautiful views too!

I dunno what I was expecting... but I actually found it very peaceful despite its name which is contradictory. Just watch and enjoy. Might be better at sunrise or sunset. Photos do not do this place justice as the sheer size and sounds cannot be captured at such close quarters.

I didn't find the "Devil's Kitchen" that great, but I loved the views of the ocean from the Lookout. The car park is a little small here and it doesn't help where there is so many tourists that come here. The lookout is about a 5 minute walk to the lookout via a dirt path.

Quite an amazing rock formation. The sign explains detail of Devils kitchen. It’s such a steep drop down that I found it hard to look down over the edge.

You could spend ages here just watching the water wash up around the rocks. We walked here from the Tasman Arch which was a nice, short, flat walk.

Our guide/driver recommended a short walk on a path through the forest to view this geological phenomenon of a magnificent arch, sheer cliffs and churning water beneath. Railings provided so you don't fall over but temptation to get a shot through the railings may cause your handphone to drop down as we hear has been the case!
Many tourists stopping to get their photos taken so narrow path may be squeezed..
Good explanation of how erosion has resulted in these formations.
