We were fortunate to visit on a beautiful clear Spring day, with snow still on top of Cradle Mountain. The walk around Dove Lake took us 1.5 hours, with lots of stops along the way for photos. We would recommend taking something to snack on...More

Excellent walk for those with children. Went with three children aged 9-14. Great way to experience nature and history. Well worth repeating.

We were walking at a very leisurely pace in order to see all around us. There are two options. A short walk to the boat-shed which took about ten mins and then a way more enjoyable walk of about two hours. There was so much...More

What a amazing place to visit when you stay in Launcheston. The only problem is it was quite a long drive to get there and it was so cold. Make sure you thick warm clothing. Overall, this place is one of the must visit.

We arrived late at the Mountain and headed off after 4pm around the lake with our family. We were well rugged up as it was raining with plenty of snow around. This was an easy walk which took a solid 2 hours including plenty of...More

I did the Dive Lake Circuit with my husband and his parents (who are in their early 60s). We caught the shuttle down from the Visitors Centre - there is only parking for about 30 or so cars at the bottom, but really you best...More

We had a good day and could see the mountain. Our group of 4 ranged from 58 to 65 years of age and we did the walk fairly easily - but wear good hiking shoes as you can come across some muddy areas if it's...More

If someone wants to visit there, just walk to left side to the big rock and right side to the wooden house for photography. Not easy to bring too many gears for photography-lovers to walk the whole lake.

Hi I would advise getting a National Parks Pass usually valid for 2 months thus giving you entry and free shuttle bus!

Hi there. I'm sorry I have only just seen your questions. I'm not the person to ask, but we stayed two nights in the Highlander Chalets and did several quick walks in one day in the one National Park.

Yes, you can do this in winter. Make sure you have your waterproof boots, pants and gloves. As it can be wet if it is raining. It is not that hard, just a circle around Dove Lake, you can do it on your own. Bring water and... More
