Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really enjoyed looking around the gallery; shame the Tasmanian Tigers exhibition was no longer there but the rest was pretty good. Service was excellent, and we bought some lovely prints from local artists. Nice that it was free entry too.

This gallery really is worth a look. Amazing photography and artwork and locally made items in the gift shop. This is a really lovely place for a Gallery, in this beautiful setting where you have enough space to really take in the brilliant works of art.

The Wilderness Gallery when we were there in October was basically a gift shop and a couple of exhibition galleries. One gallery was devoted to the photographs of Peter Dombrovskis who was second to none. Well worth seeing. The rest of the building was a disappointment and needs some creative input.

Dear John S, Thank you for your feedback. We're disappointed that you didn't enjoy our gallery. We have a total of 11 rooms in the Gallery, some of which are permanent shows such as our Tiger Room and the Peter Dombrovskis gallery. Rooms 2,3,6,7,8, however, have exhibitions that change every four months. Perhaps on a subsequent visit the shows on offer will appeal more to you. Once again, many thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Cheers, Belle

Dear cboswell35, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review - good or bad we welcome them as it helps us improve and develop the gallery. Naturally, we're saddened that you didn't enjoy our gallery but would ask that you not write us off after only one visit. We have a total of 11 rooms in the Gallery, some of which are permanent shows such as our Tiger Room and the the interactive Kids Room (a godsend to parents on a wet day!). We also have rooms where the shows change every four months - 2,3,6,7,& 8. Perhaps on a subsequent visit the shows on offer will have more of the "wildness" that appeals to you. Once again, many thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Cheers, Belle

We spent a very moving couple of hours here. The story of the Tasmanian Tiger is heart breaking. Perusing each of the individual galleries was both enlightening and entertaining. Well worth a visit.

We couldn't agree with you more, David-Cathy15. It's one of the reasons we set up the Tiger Room at the Gallery. Hopefully, we as a race, will learn from our past mistakes. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. Much appreciated!

Some of the exhibits surprised us. We did not know there was a Tasmanian tiger exhibit and much more.

Pleasantly surprised. Not to be missed if you are here.

Wow! I never knew how many talented artists lived in Tassie these days... my mind is blown... and out of this gallery store you can buy so many beautiful artworks and gift wares it’s amazing!

I just blew my spending budget on this store! Amazingly beautiful and unique pieces and Belinda was so passionate and helpful and knew every artist by heart!

If you love nature, art and good quality products you must visit this gallery and store!

We stopped by here after staying at Highlander Cottages (wonderful) and a few days bushwalking at gorgeous Cradle Mt. the gallery is fantastic, and a real surprise. Visit and you won’t be disappointed! The gallery rooms are wonderful with my personal favourite the Drawing Room. Go there and spend an hour or two. It is a beautiful welcoming place with lovely staff. Good gift shop!
