with the destinction of being the oldest bridge on the National Highway grid, the Red Bridge is an iconic site in its self. Build in 1836 by penal labour, hand made red bricks were used to arch over this river.

We were travelling from Deloraine to Hobart and stopped here to stretch our legs and take some stunning autumn photos of the historic bridge. There is around a million bricks in this bridge and built in 1839.

The community have put a lot of effort into the park. There are stunning carvings made from the old dead trees which are still rooted in place.

Amazing bridge that was built in 1883 and it look just awesome. Well worth a stop to get up close to see it. There are wooden sculptures on one side of the bridge.

The Red Bridge was completed in 1838 - almost 180 years old. It still look sturdy and is working perfectly! There are wooden sculptures carved from whole trucks!

Built by convicts this is the oldest standing and unaltered bridge in Australia. Impressive surrounds meticulously maintained, it is worth the stop and obligatory photo opportunity.

What a fabulous reminder of our heritage and the demonstration of the skills of a generation past. This is a must for future generations to maintain as it is such an important part of our history. 👍
