Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Saw it as part of a tour I picked up from the Makers Workshop. It was nice, but certainly not as "full" as the photo indicates. We looked at the waterfall from the overlook and then walked down the steps/path to the base - not too challenging for mobile seniors, and easy to follow the path. At the base, I scrambled across some rocks (be careful!) to see the waterfall up close. While not spectacular, it was worthwhile as part of a tour. Perhaps it would be nicer if there had been more rainfall.

Living in Ridgley allows us to see many lovely places in North West Tasmania. One close to home is the Guide Falls. It is unknown to many but easy to access with a nice picnic area. The falls are at their best after a big rainfall, but in drier times can be accessed almost under the waterfall itself. You can then have the water mist spray on you as the waterfall can almost be touched.

There are many other beautiful spots around the area and not too far away is the famous Cradle Mountain, Table Cape and Stanley all within an easy drive.

For those cruising and using Burnie as a port, you could contact us for some tips on places to visit during your stay. We love Tasmania and happy to help out visitors looking for ideas, other than what might be available on organised shore excursions.

If you are passing through Burnie and can swing past these falls it wont dissapoint, especially if Tassie isnt in drought. It's about 15 minutes out of Burnie city and fairly easily signposted. The falls themselves are beautiful and the rock formations at the botttom of the falls combined with the ferns and greenery makes you feel like you could step back in time into a dinosaur era. The walk is easy and if you cant hadle steps you can drive to the top lookout, if you are a bit more mobile you can do the short easy walk from the bottom of the falls to the top (there are stairs). You could easily make the trip out a picnic lunch outing with toilets and a picnic area at the bottom of the falls. All in all, it was another beautiful area in Tassie and if you have the time i'd stop by to appreciate the beauty of the place.

Located about 10min south of Burnie. You can drive to the top for views. You can either walk down the stairs or drive back to the bottom for an easier hike to the base. Take care on the wet slippery rocks.

Great waterfall. you can get close both at the top and at the fall. Then walk down a small walk, taking in the sights and sounds.

The waterfall was readily accessible from the platform above as well as at the level below by negotiating short stairway. The fall was full of water at the time of our visit and with no other visitors we had the falls all to ourselves. Beautiful falls and recommend a visit if traveling in the area.

Visited here during the recent floods. It's a great spot for a picnic, quiet walk or bird spotting. The falls were really spectacular - only a short drive from Burnie.

Bring your camera's and packed food, or have a BBQ, the setting is just beautiful. Stay for hours, or make it a short visit, you won't be disappointed. Guide Falls is very well maintained, with excellent facilities. Walk to the top of the falls, or start at the top and walk down, whichever is the easiest for you (it's a stairway to heaven). A beautiful natural wonder.....and guess what...it's FREE

Tucked away at the back of Burnie, can drive to the top of the falls or park at the bottom and walk up the track, we drove up and the fittest person drove back down and walked up the track to meet us. Nicely set out picnic area, nice waterfall. Flushing toilet.Stop in on your way to the west coast.
