Visited Burnie for a port stop from our cruise and booked online. Cherie met us at Makers Market with the warmest smile, she drove our small group around to see Burnie natural scenery of opium and poppy fields. Along the way stopped at Bluehills honey farm to taste different types of honey. Cherie provide us with homemade treats to keep us going throughout the day. Went to the Nut for lunch she rang ahead so our orders were ready she took those that were willing on the cable chair to enjoy lunch at the top.
We were able to walk around Stanley historical town and visit boat harbour beach.
Cherie was so knowledgeable and had so much passion for Burnie. Anyone visiting Burnie I would highly recommend Australian wild harvest tour with Cherie.

Thanks so much for your lovely review. I am always grateful for feedback and delighted that you enjoyed your day so much. It's not too difficult to provide a great tour when I live in this beautiful part of the world..... but the acknowledgement is much appreciated.

Cherie was an excellent guide and her passion about Tasmania and it’s food and natural scenery was infectious. Wished we had more time to explore the diverse culinary bounty (we were cut short by our cruise line). Cherie was very amenable in meeting our desires and wishes. She also brings along a few surprise treats that makes the tour even more enjoyable. You cannot go wrong with a tour with Cherie.

Thank you so much for your glowing review. I really appreciate that you not only did this, but also before your cruise has even finished. It was my absolute pleasure to show you both around and I am so glad that you will leave our shores with lovely memories. Happy cruising.

Today we had a fantastic gourmet foodie tour with Australian Wild Harvest! On the tour we visited passionate producers including a very creative cherry grower, a winery, ethical farmers of beef, pork and lamb, olive growers and an newly established cider cellar door. Other stops included cheeses and chocolates!! As each stop we heard their stories and tasted their amazing produce! Our delicious lunch at the Cherry Shed showcased the different ways they have developed their product and cater for everyone needs and tastes. We had earlier walked among the cherry trees and raspberry bushes tasting the delicious fruits and were delighted when Paul the owner joined us around the lunch table. A wonderful day, thank you Cherie!!

We spent 4 wonderful days with Cherie Allan from Australian Wild Harvest Tasmanian Food Wine & Farmgate Tours!!
Day 1:- Started the day early Leven Canyon, Preston Falls, Gunns Plains Caves and then found the elusive platypus before a couple of stops at Spreyton Cider Co, House of Anvers (chocolates) and Wattle Hill Olives.
Day 2:- Cradle Mountain. We went via the topiary town of Railton and checked out the murals in Sheffield before a couple of little walks at Cradle Mountain and then a visit to the Devil Park. Fantastic to see some young ones and a real treat to see some babies suckling off Mum. We saw a wombat and large Honey/Caramel coloured wallaby.
Day 3:- the rain followed us around, but it wasn’t a problem. We started our tastings at Ashgrove Cheese, Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Cafe, 41 Degrees South, The Honey Farm and then a delicious lunch at Hazelbrae Hazelnuts. Into Launceston for a stroll up Cataract Gorge to see the noisy peacocks before or last stop for the day up at Beaconsfield gold mine.
Day 4:- Another full on day
We started off at Braddons Lookout with views over the Forth Valley before venturing to Turners Beach Berry Patch for ice cream. Onto Stanley, via Table Cape, for scallop pies and Cape Grim beef pies for lunch. We stopped in at Blue Hills Honey for a tasting before the Big Tree and Dip Falls, which had plenty of water flowing. Last stop was the lovely Boat Harbour.
Thank you Cherie from Australian Wild Harvest

Cherie was fantastic. She is passionate about showing the best of Tasmania. We went to a specialty honey shop, salmon farm, cheese factory, chocolate shop where we had a beautiful taste platter of meats, cheese, crusty bread, relishes, etc, and an incredible chilli chocolate drink, then onto a berry farm for an amazing berry icecream waffle cone, then onto an olive oil farm for prize winning oil tasting and tour. We also went to a couple of lookouts. All of it was amazing. Cherie passionately shared her vast knowledge of the area and really made the trip. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. If you want to explore the food of Tasmania's north west give Cherie a ring you won't be disappointed.
It has been the highlight of our cruise so far.

Thanks for your kind words. It is always a pleasure to show off the best of what NW Tassie has to offer. Not difficult to do with the amazing Producers we have here. We are very spoilt in this little corner of paradise. Hope your remaining days away finished with warm weather and tasty delights.

If you're keen to see what North West Tasmania has to offer in produce then Cherie's food tour is a must. My partner and I were treated to a fantastic day out as Cherie took us to several of the producers in the area where we were able to try some of the tastiest and freshest produce Tassie has to offer. We were even lucky enough to have a meet and greet with some of the producers and gain some extra insight into their respective companies. Cherie is an amazing guide, she has a wealth of knowledge and has many stories to share of her own travels and food experiences. It just so happened that we were the only ones to book the tour for this day and Cherie was more than happy to accommodate for any changes we wanted to make to the standard itinerary. Her communication throughout the entire planning process was great and her passion for food apparent. Highly recommended!

I am always thrilled to show off Tassie produce, but to give credit where it is due, the amazing producers we have in the North West region makes my role "the dream job". Wonderful to meet you both and share a little taste of Tasmania.

If you like fresh food & want to see how it is grown or produced this trip is fantastic. It was a long day and so rewarding and Cherie was the perfect host. She went above & beyond her contractual duties and I'm sure this is because she is so passionate about the people & farms we visited.
Originally I was looking for a cooking course in this part of Tasmania however I stumbled over the "Wild Harvest" website,I'm glad I did. The smart, hard working, some very, very hard working farmers, were an absolute delight to meet and to see they also have a passion for food and are willing to share their precious time was inspirational and humbling.
A great trip and I would like & be able to take all my friends on it.an industry I never even considered,Agricultural & food tour.

Thanks for your review. I get as much pleasure being able to share the "North West" with visitors, as the Producers are proud to showcase their amazing product. It was great to have your group on board for the day and thrilled that you all enjoyed your behind the scenes look at where it all begins.

1.) to Stanley with a group of people from the cruise ship, stopped at Dip waterfalls, the 400 year old eucalyptus in the bush, Blue Hills honey tasting, and of course the chairlift up the famous "Nut", with panoramic 360 degree views over sandy beaches, lovely countryside, and mountains.
2.) to Cradle Mountain with a Chinese family, beautiful weather, hike around Dove lake, stop at the Tasmanian Devil Center, saw echidnas, wallabies & wombats! Surprise stop at the Berry Patch for a delicious ice cream made on the spot with fresh berries. Great day thanks to Cherie, our competent & friendly guide and safe driver.

We arrived in Burnie after cruising two days on Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas.
I was travelling with a group of friends and decided to meet several tour operators before booking a tour.
We booked with Cherie owner of Australian Wild Harvest. What a find with her friendly
and engaging personality and so knowledgeable of local produce, history and events.
The tour was fantastic to the North-West area of Tassie. Amazing scenery, even a bonus
of an up close sighting (Echidna). Before returning to the ship our last stop was at the Berry
Farm where I had the best fresh fruit ice cream I have ever eaten. It was just a little taste of
Tasmania, but hugely enjoyable and memorable at that.
We will be recommending your business to family and friends.

"Thank you for the fabulous tour you delivered to Ann and myself. It truly gave us a great insight into the produce of Tasmania, it was not only informative in meeting the farmers directly and having them impart their wisdom, but also the sampling of the produce was very enjoyable. I will be recommending your business to family and friends that are heading over your way in the future."

On April 14 my friends and I will arrive in Burnie via Oceania Cruise lines. If we booked a tour for 7 adults, what would be the cost? Will you pick up and drop off at the ship
Written 2 March 2017
Hello - thank you for your enquiry. I have a listing for the Sirena coming into Burnie on 13 April, not 14 April - assume this is the ship you are on. Unfortunately I am fully booked on that day. Hope you have a wonderful time on your visit to Tassie and happy cruising.
