Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a delightful place. Originally the home of William Henry Oldaker, a place he called Avon, it has Shorewell creek running through it. The park is hilly but the Council have done an outstanding job not only setting it up but also maintaining it. Lots of seats and places to just plonk. Lots of thick grass to lay on. Plenty of up to the minute kids equipment. Off street parking to unload the kids. BBQs, shelters, a performance shell set into the side of the hill ... and oh, the waterfall! Oldaker Falls is at the top of the park and is reached by an easy walking track, with the water from the falls running beside you as you approach.
Not many city park can boast a waterfall.
Also contained with in the park is the 175 year old Burnie Inn: the oldest remaining building after white settlement. Naturally, it was a pub. It was moved to the park in 1973 and preserved.
One of the most outstanding council parks I have visited.

Swathes of green, various species of mature trees, roses, rhododendrons, a creek, children's playground, BBQs, picnic areas, walking tracks, the Cenotaph and sporting facilities. (sporting facilities maybe located at West Park). Beautiful area that would be an oasis in any city. Great views overlooking Bass Strait. Very popular area for mums with strollers and children enjoying themselves.

Burnie Park is a lovely find very close to the town centre. It has a great children’s playground and massive green spaces for children to let off steam. The highlight is the Oldaker Waterfall which is situated at one end of the park. This is a peaceful, reasonably easy walk with some stairs, at one end of the park. The water from the Falls meanders in a narrow man-made stream beside the path of ending in a very small lake near the playground. I spent a pleasant, peaceful hour in Burnie Park.

This park really does check boxes-- life would be simple if we simply checked boxes, but it's not. We need to connect with our environment and this is a very good place to do it. The park is walking distance from a beach as well.
It's a great place to take a break from driving and reconnect with nature. It's well thought out with something for everyone.

Burnie Park was a large green area overlooking the ocean and was one of the better places in the town which did not have a whole lot going for it, in terms of natural beauty or parks or beaches

Good park for the kids to run around and have fun, park is very well maintained with a few things to keep the kids active or you can sit down and have a peaceful bite to eat or read a book.

Tree studded providing ample shade in the lower section of the park
A number of different playground areas with bbqs. Clean toilets.
Further up the hill native vegetation with a fern lined running creek next to the path leading up to the falls.
Great area for families.

Park, gardens, lake, waterfalls and rainforest all in the same area
There’s plenty of parking and public toilets nice views of the coast and sea
Big play area for children plus gas BBQ and picnic areas
Once you leave the play area there’s a path to Oldaker Falls through the rainforest
The path is quite steep and there’s steps at the end to get to the falls which makes it unsuitable for prams and anyone who can’t walk very well
Worth the effort though it’s very pretty and peaceful
Enjoy
