About
The Cape Bruny Lighthouse is the most iconic & dominant landmark on Bruny Island. Nestled on the sea-cliff tops in the South Bruny National Park, at the southern tip of Bruny Island. Built from 1836 she sits proud, overlooking the craggy coastlines of Southern Tasmania. This is the southernmost lighthouse tour in Australia. The tours to the top operate daily. For just $15 you will hear stories of shipwrecks, convicts and how the lighthouse keepers performed their daily duties. Learn how the lighthouse was built and experience the wild ocean and sea cliff views from above. This lighthouse is independently leased from Parks and Wildlife and operated by Craig Parsey who's family lived at Cape Bruny during the 1970's as Lighthouse Keepers. $15 is a small price to pay for such a wonderful experience, the icing on the cake! One of the must do attractions on Bruny Island.

    Great ocean views
Lovely drive up to the lighthouse mainly on well graded gravel road. The light house offers a tour which enables you to enter and ascend to the top $15/ head. Lovely views around the light house. Very good toilets available at the rear of the museum. Also consider the walks from Jetty Beach.

    Great views and interesting history
The day we visited it was rather cold, very windy and showery but this certainly added to the experience and gave one an appreciation of what the lighthouse keepers would have had to deal with during their time serving and maintainining the important facilities. Our guide was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable and helped bring the history of the lighthouse alive. The little museum was also worth a visit with some interesting exhibits, photos etc that helped outline the history of the lighthouse, and the rather tough life had by the lighthouse keepers and their families.

    Well worth a visit!
The guided tour in the lighthouse was fantastic. Very informative and great value at $15 per person. The views from the balcony were stunning and well worth the climb up the path and the internal stairs. There are 72 metal spiral stairs - they are easy climbing but could be a bit nerve-wracking for those who suffer from a fear of heights.

Best Lighthouse Tour I have been on
I am a bit of a photographic and lighthouse nut. This was the best lighthouse tour I have been on. The views are spectacular and would love to do the sunset tour as the landscape is amazing. Matt was our guide and he did a fantastic job relaying the history and operation of the lighthouse with such passion, knowledge and humour. Great work

    Stunning view
The lady introduced the story and history of the lighthouse in good details. The view up on the platform of the lighthouse is stunning and mesmerizing. Perhaps the meeting point relocated to the museum at the guard house with some explanation there would be even better.

    Must Do in Bruny Island
This short guided tour takes you to the top of the lighthouse with excellent views. Our guide Shane was great - warm, knowledgeable and helpful (offered to take photos of us at the top). Great to learn about the history and function of the lighthouse. We booked the tour online an hour in advance once we had a better idea of our ETA. You can see how many spots remaining in each tour on their website too. From the car park, it's a brief 5-10 minute uphill walk to the lighthouse so aim to arrive earlier than the tour start time. Also make sure to check out the museum near the car park after your visit. Toilet facilities also available behind the museum.
