Boonoo Boonoo Falls are about 40 minutes north-east of Tenterfield with the last 14km in the NP on a good quality gravel road.
From the car park/picnic area there is a good access track to both the Falls lookout and to the top of Falls...More
Thsi is a very pleasant natural landmark around twenty kms north of Tenterfield . Just be aware that it is best to use AWD/ AWD SUV style vehicle as the road is heavily rutted (quite a boneshaker yet steady driving is no problem so best...More
The road to the River Falls is mostly gravel. It's not a great drive for small cars. I definitely recommend a compact SUV type at least. There is a good clean toilet at the Falls lookout. The Rock pools are good. The lookout is awesome,...More
This great spot is limited as visitors cannot experience the full magnificence of the water fall as the only view is from the top. A maintained walking track to the bottom of the falls or a better viewing position would be wonderful.
We had a beautiful day enjoying the bushwalks and exploring the rock pools with our family. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather - although it was still a little cool in the water for a swim! Well maintained picnic area, gas bbq and...More
Easily accessible from Tenterfield, Boonoo Boonoo (pronounced "BUNNA NOONOO" is a delight to visit, especially when there is an abundance of water going over the edge and the many rock pools are full. Turn off the Mt Lindsay Way and the road turns to gravel,...More

It's a short easy walk to the falls lookout and an good view of the falls, gorge below and way out to the scenery beyond. There hasn't been any rain lately but still a good lot of water. Would be massive after rain. The rock...More

Hello, I cannot speak for the number of sites , yet I would say minimal and as for generators, National parks and Wildlife Serve(NPWS) NSW would be the best option to check out the legalities there. I would reckon you would be safe provided you have a very well ventilated area in which to operate such equipment given they are quite compact these days. The road is heavily rutted so care need to taken entering the area yet very picturesque and peaceful once there. Safe Travels. Barry
