- Paul WD3 contributionsGold Trophy AssistantsBoth staff members were excellent in their knowledge and keen attitude to assist in my camping requirements. I visited this tourist office about three years ago and also received friendly and enthusiastic assistance. Having travelled Australia for the past two years, I can equivocally confirm, Vicki and Niomi both are outstanding examples of the what we as tourists look for in a tourist information centre.Visited July 2023Travelled soloWritten 22 July 2023

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were very impressed with the wealth of knowledge from the staff at this visitor's centre. Vicki was extremely helpful with lots of suggestions and directions on how to get to places. From drives and walks to the range of camping options available, she provided us with maps and brochures on a variety of sights to see and visit. We are looking forward to returning to the area to have fun exploring. The centre was clean and fresh with lovely souvenirs on offer to purchase. Thanks Vicki for being so bright, cheerful and a hugh help.

This place has it all! Not only does it promote local attractions, but the entire blue mountains area AND NSW! If you ever wanted info for your visit that is constantly updated, stop here first! We're glad we did! You can even read flyers and take a rest in the giant lantern!

Have driven past innumerable times over the years and finally dropped in for a look see! The miners lamp design has always stood out & impressed me and is a tribute to the designers. A little Centre but as usual, friendly & informative staff ever present and happy to help & hint. Make it your first stop in Lithgow, not Maccas!

We were passing through Lithgow and needed information about road closures for our drive back to Canberra.
The lady who helped us gave us lots of information and a few options.
The centre itself is very well set up with lots of information.
We got great service and really appreciate it.

Lithgow, Australia3 contributions
Lithgow is a town with a rich Industrial heritage- as early as the 1840's coal was being extracted to fuel the economy. The structure of the visitor centre represents a Miners safety lamp which was used to detect flammable gases in mines, and to reduce the danger of explosions.
