Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is more than just a museum - it’s a museum, lookout, mural and war memorial all in one!
The museum is fantastic; beautifully showcasing the district’s history. A lot of time could be spent going through the four floors of collection. The staff were so friendly and helpful, too. They definitely contributed to the experience!
It was a real and unexpected treat to be able to walk on top of the water tower and get an excellent view of the town and surrounding plains and mountains. There’s even peepholes for fencing-free photos!
The Vietnam War mural is excellent and can make you feel quite emotional. It also back on to the WW1 memorial, which really makes you think about the differences in those wars.

Fabulous views over the town and country. The art on the water tower pays tribute to our involvement in the Vietnam War and is beautifully done and very moving. Really good information about exactly what it depicts. Sadly the museum was not open but we felt Anzac Park was a great place for peaceful reflection.

Thank you for letting us visit your excellent museum. It is obviously loved and cared for by wonderful citizens. We admired the art work on the water tower and enjoyed the exhibitions inside the museum.

Gunnedah Water Tower Museum has a war depiction, soldiers and helicopters, along with a salute to the fallen. Worth the stop

The only problem with this museum is it's limited opening hours. Lots of interesting stuff and friendly volunteers

We were so sad that we weren't able to go inside the Gunnedah Water Reservoir Museum. It is open on Saturday 10am to 2pm as well as Mondays 9.30 to 11.30am.
The museum, which is the home of the Gunnedah and District Historical Society is located in the old decommissioned water reservoir
The museum has a large display of memorabilia, artefacts and archives. It has four floors and an observation deck.
We only had the chance to look at the outside. The two murals painted by Jenny McCracken and dated 25th of April, 2019, are absolutely awesome. They commemorate those who served in the Vietnam War. One mural has the soldiers gazing on the Long Tan Cross, while the other is an amazing mural illustrating soldiers of the 5th Platoon, B Company 7RAR, waiting to board the Huey helicopters to return to Nui Dat.
