Set deep in the outback of New South Wales, Mungo is a former Sheep station that was converted to a national park. The old Woolshed is interesting to go through. The Walls of China are absolutely spectacular, especially around sunset and sunrise, which is the...More

A great place to visit and check out the surrounds was fine however the signage was lacking, making it difficult to drive around the park. The info at the centre was light on regarding Mungo Man and how long ago aboriginals are now recorded as...More

Of Australia’s ancient geological and cultural history, this Park is readily accessible by an excellent unsealed but well-graded road from Mildura. Only a 1.5 hr drive, Google maps has the right road, but a fallacious travel time; it occasionally rains, and the road will be...More

Driving into the park is like driving through a moonscape, it is quite surreal. It appears like you are driving through a crater of some sought, it is a wall that has been created by winds and sand. The information centre was unmanned but had...More

Its a long trip mostly on gravel road, it was hot & windy with clouds of flies, so our experience was a little clouded. The main attractions are spectacular but can be viewed in a short time. Probably better to go on an organized tour.

A great day trip to the home of the Mungo Man. Sturt was right about an inland sea but 20000 years too late. Fascinating flora and fauna on the 70 km drive thru and around the lake with great tour notes. We took the Pooncarie...More

Hi Elbray, It depends on whether you have a four wheel drive or not, and whether you are camping or not. This time of year is normally very beautiful, but it has been exceptionally wet, making it challenging if you don't... More
