    Somewhat Charming
This town was very cute and charming. We stayed for four days and got to experience the town on foot and that was the best way to get to see all of the, fruit trees, animals, homes, beaches, winding roads and of course the gorgeous waterfall. The only thing that made us uncomfortable were some of the business owners/employees(not all) but a lot of them made us feel very unwanted and were pretty rude even though we made sure to tip, be respectful, and be as kind as we possibly could. Needless to say that by the end of our stay we were very ready and glad to be heading out.

    Lovely authentic town
I went with Vallarta Adventures and I am glad I did! I loved the trip to the waterfall, we swam and then walked back down and across to the beach which was so relaxing drinking very well priced Coronas in the sun. Yelapa was very quaint and authentic. Yes there was some nasty areas with trash lying around but that's all part of it! 99% of it was beautiful and the locals didn't harass you at all to buy from them, which is unlike some other places. Recommend! Here's a tip... the iguana guy offers you a hold of the iguana then says "that'll be 100 pesos" 😅

Great day trip to Yelapa & Majahuitas!
We did the Yelapa & Majahuitas tour through Vallarta Adventures (who I will review separately!!). I was surprised at the town of Yelapa in general. It's very small and the "roads" are very narrow, hilly, and can be hard to walk on at times. 4-wheelers seem to be their choice vehicle for delivering goods, so when one is on the road, you have to step off to the side for them to get past you on the road. We all walked to the waterfall together as a group from the boat, and then we were able to go on our own for the remainder of the time allowed. There are many tables set up along the walk to the bridge, adults & children selling their goods. Majahuitas is an incredible little beach area with LOTS of secret little places to sit in the shade. We made the mistake of finding a place on the beach & didn't realize until it was time to leave that there were so many other places to explore. I would have liked more time there - Very peaceful!

    Vacation in Paradise
What a relaxing trip staying in paradise. Our 10 day visit included eating at a variety of restaurants. Pollo Bollo, Tacos y Mas, Los Abuelos, and Yacht Club food was delicious! The best was the tacos and quesadillas at Tacos Yolanda on the first floor where we stayed. Our hosts were very accommodating and gracious. We hung out on the beach at Del Mar for the cheap beer. Their arrachera nachos were also delicious! We had the honor of being chosen by one of the beach dogs one day as he followed us and hung out all day. The flora is spectacular, and the people warm and friendly. We will definitely be back again.

Nice beach to spend time on
Decent beach to spend the day on with numerous restaurants to choose from. Snorkel from the beach with caution with all the boat traffic on-going. Depending on the time of year one may want to venture to the waterfalls or explore the town

    Ok in April
Taking the boat over to Yelapa is always fun. It was great to lay on the beach, eat some sushi rolls and take the atv tour through the town up to the waterfalls. Unfortunately we weren’t aware that the falls weren’t flowing when we went up so were a little disappointed to see no water and a gross pool with stagnant water. It’s best to go in March I guess when the water is flowing and you can see dolphins and whales during the boat ride.

    Yelapa Worth The Boat Ride
We took the water ferry from Los Muertos Pier. It was pretty full, since this time of year only a few trips from PV. Crew was very friendly and helpful. It was fun to see all the houses and resorts in the bays and coves we passed. Yelapa Beach was great for swimming. Lounge chairs at Angelina’s were a good location but a bit worn out. Food at Angelina’s decent and service wonderful. Rudimentary toilets and shower available. Water Taxi back four hours later was the only afternoon ferry to PV. A bit rougher and bumpier ride back. Getting off the boat in PV not easy because the boat was bouncing a lot. But again the crew was very helpful. We did not go into town, just stayed on the beach. I think Yelapa would have been much different 15 years ago, or maybe now at nighttime as well. During the day though, definitely overrun with folks from the water ferry and various “tour boats”. And this is the low season….

    Relaxing Beach
I loved relaxing at Yelapa Beach. The water was clear and the waves are not high. We rented an umbrella and chairs, relaxed a while with drinks, explored the town, then relaxed at the beach with more drinks. It was a pleasant day and certainly worth the trip.

We did snorkeling and waterfall tour at Yelapa via "VallartaBytheBoat" tours. It will take almost 2 hours on the boat to get to snorkeling spot, and you get snorkeling for 15 minutes 🤣. Super rushhhh snorkeling then after that they will take to yelapa Beach for your lunch. Don't believe the people there, they will tell you that the hike to waterfall will take 45 minutes to get there when in reality it's only 15-20 minutes walk. And the Falls is "meh" what a disappointment for us, and ohhh at the restaurant by the beach if you don't order extra aside from your lunch the waiters or waitress will get snotty and tell you that your not helping their economy. What a joke. Not a good spot for swimming too because boats are everywhere.

Yelalpa usually gets a bad rap because if you book via a tour some people won’t find it worth the money at 100 bucks per person. The best way to visit yelalpa is los likely doing it via a water taxi from los muertos Beach. But if you have a decent sized group (4-6). Rent a panga for your family. I rented one for 6 hours for about 300 usd. It took us to los Arcos, Yelalpa and Las Animas. 3 tours for the price of 1. You dictate the times you want to stay. Yelalpa is no big deal in my opinion! Use Thelma Santana for your Panga rental.
