Opted this time for the gardens rather than the woodland walk. Rewarded by colourfull rhododendrons, azaleas and wisteria. Camelias just fading. Tempted to just sit and read in the sunshine, but so much to see. We look forward to the roses and bedding plants to...More

A garden full of vibrant colour from mature rhododendrons and azaleas and some wisteria. The former glory of the pergola walk covered with wisteria and laburnum is sadly no more with the laburnum gone and the wisteria a poor specimen with little substance to that...More

Beautiful Gardens!!! Well worth the drive over. If you want a quick few hours, then simply have a light breakfast at the cafe, walk to the main house on site for a body around, visit the main gardens, and grab some lunch on your way...More

A small part of the house is open to the public. Always some exhibition and a lovely walk through the well maintained gardens. Choose the woodland walk to see swathes of bluebells in the spring. Lakes, cascades, croquet on the lawn and other fascinations. Camera...More

Went on a Saturday afternoon, the Car Park was pretty full, but they now have extra parking, so no problem. Although it was slightly overcast, the views were stunning, and when the flowers bloom it will be full of colour too, so a must see...More

Going anywhere with a nearly 92 year old Dad can be a challenge ..... not the case at Nymans Gardens. Lunch was a light affair sitting in the sun sandwiches and tea. We spent some time looking at some of the ancient trees and an...More

We visit this neck of the woods regularly and always return to Nymans. If you want to, you can stay within the formal gardens and enjoy a wonderful setting with backdrops of woodlands below or the romantic ruin at the centre. There is usually some...More

A beautiful Sunday morning and ideal for a trip to a NT property. Nymans is easy to reach even from a distance, being at Handcross, close to the southern end of M23 past Gatwick. Even by 11am the main car park is fairly full but...More

We stopped off at this National Trust location on the way back from a visit to Brighton. After a gentle cruise into the car park, we were concerned that we might not get a space on the blisteringly hot Saturday April afternoon. But we need...More

What a great day we had at Nymans, a very warm welcome, lovely coffee and then a truly wonderful 'Buggy tour'. Over an hour round the gardens and woods with the extremely knowledgeable and brilliant Tony. It was really interesting and I would never have...More

Hi just seen the reply to your question. You CANNOT enter Nymans via the shop. I'm afraid you need to pay an entrance fee or join the NT.

I think you do as from the car park you go through an entrance to the grounds (where you pay) and the entrance to the woodland walk is after that point.
