We took the train from Vauxhall to Hampton court. It's about 45min train journey and 5-10mins walk from the station. We bought the tickets online and went straight to the rose garden, the wonderful smell and beautiful roses greeted us... the kids searched for the...More

Our first visit to the Hampton Court RHS flower show and in terms of event size and ticket cost it falls somewhere in between high end Chelsea and eclectic Malvern. Arriving early before the gates open is highly recommended given it's busy SW London location,...More

Unfortunately I didn't spend long enough - I went for an afternoon and one could really spend the whole day. It is really two experiences - the gardens and the house and both are well worthwhile- I can see why Henry the VIII chose to...More

We had the good fortune to obtain tickets for Wimbledon so decided to make weekend of it. Having membership of Historic Houses but not taking full advantage, we decided to make a visit. Lots to see and on our visit several events taking place in...More

This was the second time we visited Hampton Court which is really interesting especially if you use the audio guide. You do need to give yourself plenty of time as each set of rooms takes about 40 minutes with the guide. The buildings are truly...More

The key to making this and some of our other stops in and about London affordable is to join the Royal Palace consortium as a member. Not Viator or whatever (which we've done and liked, mind you), but to do as the locals do and...More

Came for the flower show set in the gardens on a hot sunny day. The Palace grounds are very grand and gardens well kept. The show stalls and Show gardens are set either side of the Long Water with the fountains. It was a very...More

We had booked, and paid for our tickets on line, the day before travel. This shows quite a saving on the "price at the door". I knew the Palace was large, but I had rather underestimated - it is vast! The entry ticket includes a...More

Huge grounds and palace, so makes it worth it. The only thing that put me off slightly was the sheer expanse of land - felt a bit wrong

Whilst we were there there only last week to view the palace, parking may change for the flower show. We parked inside the palace for £1.60 per hour. Cannot guarantee the parking will be the same for the flower show though.
