Happened upon this ex-navy patrol boat as we walked through Watchet and it was well worth popping in to look around and learning some fascinating facts about a world that I'd known little about. Kids loved it and you can do much more in the...More

You can see it. It doesn't move, you can't go on it. It's a boat. If you like boats you will love it. If you don't like boats you will be bored like my son

Watcher is such a lovely place, it really is worth a visit with it’s nice mix of shops and eating places everyone is friendly and the esplanade is so interesting with a good variety of things to look at

Watchet Harbour is full of surprises and I will mention but two. First is RN P1041 "Gay Archer" launched in 1941 and saw service with special forces (the Special Boat Squadron). The second surprise was to see High Speed Launch RAF 437. Apparently 437 was...More

Unfortunately the Gay Archer is no longer in Watchet. Its a shame because it was interesting to visit and the owner had lots of tales to tell. I think it is now on the south coast somewhere, Well worth a visit if you can

I happened to be in Watchet for family reasons but was dead keen to see Gay Archer as I had read about it in magazines. But it's not there any more. Apparently it has been moved to Torquay as free moorings were offered there, whereas...More

This old vessel is a great trip into the past WW11. Little resrtiction where to go and laid out with pictorial references and memorabilia. Seaworthy, and last year went up to the Harbour Festival in Bristol (another great attraction).
