Sandra at the bed and breakfast suggested this walk. It was beautiful. A bit misty when we set off but soon the sun came out. We were so lucky. The view from the Beacon was amazing in both directions and the walk through the countryside and woods was lovely.

We went here wice-one as a result of faulty navigation - and were glad we did. The first was on a right sunny day with 360 degree view over vast distances which really put a spring in your step. The second was on a misty mizzly day with less distant views and a sombre brooding atmosphere. You can get most of the way by car and the final walk to the top is not difficult if you are properly shod.…

Included the beacon in one of my bike rides. Although windy and slightly chilly the views were fantastic.

A good circular walk from Webber’s post car park. All uphill for the two miles to the top, a lovely steady walk back down and a steep climb out of the valley back to the car park. Total distance of 6.7 miles. Route followed from OS circular walks in Exmoor book.
