Walking the Elizabethan walls surrounding Berwick upon Tweed is a walk into history with information boards at key points along the walls. You can also follow the Lowry trail, the artist painted several views around the town and surrounding areas. History, culture and splendid views?

The wall around Berwick are not to be missed. Views out to sea and down to Holy Island first class. Well preserved, well kept, clean and with plenty of notification boards, I would thoroughly recommend.

Very little of the castle remains, just an outside wall and an almost inaccessible gun turret, but down by the river, at the foot o the giant's staircase, sits a river outpost, and here you get an idea of what life would have been like...More
