Lucky to visit in a tour group so shown around by the Head Gardener and two volunteers. Lord Howick used to travel abroad on plant and seed hunting expeditions but these are now undertaken by the Head Gardener. This means the Gardens are stocked with...More

One of our favourite stopping off places when we walk from Craster and back again along the coast The new sensory garden is restful and playful and we enjoyed taking our friends for tea and scones in the Hall.

Enjoyed a lovely day here. Good variety of gardens to visit and lovely woodland walks. The earl gray tea house was superb had a seat at the window next to the bird feeders great viewing for bird watchers

We had a great time here. The history of of the family and their gardens are beautiful-take good shoes to walk around. The tea rooms are well worth a visit too,

The tea rooms are lovely as is the food. Proper tea as you might expect. However if you fancy the Afternoon Tea, buy the items seperately. That will cost £13.90 instead of £17.50!

Wavered between a 3 and 4 star - gardens a 4 and tea room a 3. Had a very enjoyable visit while staying in the area - it's a garden for gardeners - very nice. The highlights for August were the Bog Garden, Hydrangea Garden,...More

As others have said, a bit of a hidden gem. Only managed a fraction of the very extensive grounds. The tea room was pretty good and the staff we met were very friendly.

Even in the height of summer, this beautiful place wasn’t busy. A wonderful garden and arboretum with a vast array of insect life. Paths in the west arboretum and gardens are wheelchair navigable. All the staff were brilliantly helpful. Great tearoom.

When visiting, know in advance what you’re coming to see so that you’re delighted rather than disappointed. Coming here is to see the gardens, the church, and to take tea in the Earl Grey teahouse. The hall is not open to visitors since the lord...More

I think we paid around £14 for 2 of us. That's with a concession for over 60s. It's a beautiful place.
